That is a great pity as it has some tremendous assets as a place and people and I reckon detrimental to attracting business etc as a city and even the football club when it comes to signings. Visited Manchester and Nottingham (wash my mouth out with soap) on the last two days and the civic pride in both is on a different level. Where I live Cardiff now has a real pride in itself that is different to 20 years ago. There is being self-deprecating and modest and there's being damaging. Glad to hear Copenhagen fans enjoyed themselves and had great welcome. For those looking for great beer, drink some Everards instead of shit like Carling etc.! Rant over. ****ing hell... didn't think my post would cause this much fuss. I don't think Leicester ****ing 3rd world or something, I just don't think it's quite on the same level as the Bahamas. At the end of the day, I love my City and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Livid Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 They are talking about the welcome they got here though more than the city. I can imagine after all the years they've played in Europe I'm sure they have been to far grander cities but they are probably more used to being met at the train station by the police riot squad forced into some kettling exercise or running the gauntlet of being stabbed in the arse by some local ultra still living in the 80's. They came to Leicester got welcomed at the station, given a free map, were able to wander around the city, wear their colours without having the crap kicked out of them and have a few (relatively inexpensive) pints. Hardly the welcome we received in Madrid was it?

fazzyfox Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 The council tried putting up posters of Wasilewski with the words "Welcome to Leicester" at the station but trains were seen to reverse back down the tracks.
