Croaker Posted 18 November 2016 Posted 18 November 2016 I just love Filbert. I think he/she is the best mascot in the league. It starts with he/she doing his/her warm up exercises (which creases me). He/she then goes on encourage to the fans to sing up during the game, complains about the refs bad decison & joins in ours and the players' celebrations when we score, a real fan. A fox is so much better than a swan, a hornet, a cockerel, that pathetic lion, an elephant, that red thing at Man U, or that wierd thing they have at Arsenal FFS. And we often see real ones, in our own county. We saw 2 on the way to the airport before the Copenghagen match for example (obviously I knew that meant we were going to score 2 goals there). Does any one else love Filbert?
Wymsey Posted 18 November 2016 Posted 18 November 2016 Has it been the same person doing it for years, must be quite a privileged job in some ways. Drawing children in and families together. Didn't agree on the binning of his cousin or Vicky Vixen, though.

Sir Shep Posted 19 November 2016 Posted 19 November 2016 Anyone remember the Swansea mascot, Ciral the swan (or something like that and spelt correctly!!). Now he was a legend back in the 90's, almost caused a riot at the den when he ripped the millwall mascots head off and threw it into the crowd amongst other things! Still a bad role model for our Filbo, long may he continue, just a pity he's banned for the CL games.

Rob1742 Posted 19 November 2016 Posted 19 November 2016 Turned up at my kids party once. He took his head off in a small room after and the sweat pouring off him was incredible. The booking form is quite strict, think it says he can only do 20 minutes at a time etc, but that really is for good reason as it's no easy ride in there that's for sure. Think it's amazing for the kids, a real treasure and fond memories of Filbert from my lad growing up that's for sure

one F in Fox Posted 19 November 2016 Posted 19 November 2016 I remember when the new incarnation of Filbert came out for the first time, years ago at Filbert St. Can't remember the year or the game,early nineties at a guess, maybe someone knows? Now considering the original Filbert was a scruffy thing that had a swagger and an attitude about him. This new, bright eyed, bushy tailed Filbert appeared and everyone sang "who the fvcking hell are you" to him. Funny at the time but we soon got used to him!
