Bazly Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 With the new signing of a Ndidi its looking like January into February could be difficult months with lots of players away on an African tour. At least our fantastic defence will be left untouched. Am I inspiring confidence here?
Wymsey Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 It will be harder if we fail to pick up many points this month. Slimani will be the biggest miss as he's the one that converts the most almost at every opportunity.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 Musa and potentially Ndidi are both Nigerian. Nigeria didn't qualify for AFCON. We will still be short of cover, because of the others going, so it is still worth talking about. Lets do a list of those who will go... Mahrez, Slim and Amartey will leave a hole. Have I missed any others?
Aus Fox Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 Mahrez going leaves an opportunity for Gray to show he is ready to fire on a regular basis in the Premier League. Slimani going means Vardy needs to step up and rediscover the form of last year and hopefully relish being the main man again for a while. Amartey could possibly be replaced by a fully fit Matty James, who also has an opportunity to show he is back and ready to be a premier league player again. Lets see the ACON as an opportunity for some of our players to develop. It won't be a major problem if players step up as we know they can.
Bazly Posted 1 December 2016 Author Posted 1 December 2016 Jeffrey Schlupp is another one unless he is off to West Brom in January.
Loves2spooge Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 AFCON would be a good opportunity to see mahrez and slimani play against some tough african teams also , might give a chance for vardy and Gray to prove they can be as good as those two Mussa won't go because Nigeria didn't make it

Bayfox Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 From the title I thought this was gonna be a thread for those heading out to watch the games.
Guest Bilo Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 Adrien Silva in from SCP would be an excellent signing along with Ndidi, which wouldn't leave us too short and may even leave us a bit spoiled for choice once Mendy is fit again. Mahrez is something of a loss during AFCON, but also presents an opportunity for Gray and perhaps Kapustka to step up.

foxy boxing Posted 2 December 2016 Posted 2 December 2016 as long as we have a player that lifts the African cup of nations we can all say we won something evan if we go down!
