At the start of last season....

Some of you are amazing you really are, would you take winning the league and then get relegated? What kind of logic is that? Weak mentality that's what it is....never before have I heard people suggest mediocrity is acceptable just because of previous success? And this bullshit of "it was an inevitability" makes me want to be sick....we had the resources, the position and the power to make a significant impact on the footballing world, but no...we made useless ****ING signings and allowed an influential member of the back room staff leave....

Do people sit and talk about Forest's European triumphs every weekend? No. They can't take out title away from us but it stands for nothing if you don't build on it, success should breed success but instead we've thrown in the towel and are disgracing ourselves...

Even some of the fans are telling others to "**** off and support Chelsea".....it's not about that, it's the sheer frustration that we've well and truly ****ed up the one chance we had to change the tide of English football....nobody should ever endorse faluire, take it and learn from it but accepting it is unacceptable....

If it came to it and we were rotting in the lower reagions of the footballing pyramid in ten years time, our league triumph will be nothing more than a ten minute piece of a nostalgic football show....and we will become another Nottingham forest....just remember those days of Stephen Hughes, Eric-Nils-Johansson and Rab Douglas......

It was just a question.. would you have taken it?? Of course no one wants to see us relegated and we wont be

If there's one team capable of winning the league then getting relegated the following year, I think we all know it's us!

i think we will stay up but got a feeling it's going to be uncomfortable.

Wouldnt swap last season for anything, Stoke have been mid table since 2008 and no one outside Stoke recalls anything of note. nothing against Stoke as we'd have taken that when we won promotion.

whstever happens we'll always have last season even if it's in glorious isolation

Or over excelled winning the league?

Yes, I think we did. Probably in a normal season we'd be around 8th which is not a bad position. We are underperforming badly this season, I make it 12 out of 18 games where we've been second best, often by a long way and not always to good teams.

This pretty much sums up what I'm feeling word for word right now.

This pretty much sums it up. Think in all that time Stoke got to the FA Cup Final once and played in the Europa League for one season by virtue of that FA Cup Final apperance rather than their league position.

Even a team like Everton would probably swap their last season and current season with ours.

Would you have taken winning the premiership title followed by relegation the next season? If so what has changed??

Why do we have to accept relegation?

Why can't we win the league and then finish midtable. It's hardly being unrealistic to expect that at the very least

You make it look as if it's already happened. lol I know it's just a question, but it has a fatalistic touch to it.

This..all day long.

Let me ask you all this question.

Having won the Premiership last season, which of you expected, let alone would accept us flirting with relegation at this point THIS season?

If any of you answer yes, I'll suggest you're telling porkies.

Things really need to improve if we are not to get sucked in to a relegation battle. Plenty of teams deemed "too good to go down" have fallen through the trapdoor over the years and our form is very much relegation form at the moment. The fact that there are other shite teams around us may mean we scrape through but we're almost at the half way point of the season and have only 17 points.

It's worth a recap of our results so far:

4 wins:

v Swansea, Crystal Palace and Burnley at home  - pretty much these should be a given to be honest and the boys got the job done in these matches

v Manchester City at home - great performance against a ragged City side, but not built on

5 draws

v Arsenal, Southampton, Middlesbrough (home) and Stoke, Tottenham (away)

9 defeats

v West Brom and Everton (home)

v Hull, Liverpool, Manchester Utd, Chelsea, Watford, Sunderland, Bournemouth (away)

The ones in bold are the matches that we should be expecting to get a better result in (imo).

Our last ten games (and I'm being generous by rounding it up to ten to include the win against Palace):

WDLLDLWLDL

Got to admit, that is shocking form and I'm getting worried. We are there for the taking at the moment and West Ham will come here on Saturday feeling they can get a win.

Don't understand the mentality about prioritising the Champions League - the PL is the bread and butter and if we manage to find ourselves relegated then we could be in deep shit.

Winning the PL was absolutely fantastic, I'll remember it for ever. But it was last season. It's gone and the players need to roll up their sleeves and start working.

The player recruitment is questionable at best. Everyone raves (or at least did) about our recruitment and cites Mahrez and Kante as the two shining lights (rightly) but for every diamond there have been several failures (Kramaric, Inler, Benalouane, Kaputska, Musa off the top of my head - and there's probably more). God knows why we spunked £30+ on forwards when we can't defend.

Wasyl is gone - past it and a liability. The fact that we have two ageing centre halves (Morgan, Huth) who although they were brilliant last season are clearly not going to last forever and we have no cover for them is staggering.
