That's your threshold for what makes decent owners? lol

Not saying that they aren't, of course. They're better than most and they've helped us to unprecedented success. But it doesn't mean they're infallible and I think most would appreciate less King Power stuff and more LCFC-related stuff when it comes to how the ground is decorated/named.

This is precisely it Voll Blau.

I've travelled to a great many away grounds in my time and the massively corporately branded ones are by far the worst (including ours). The ones where you can feel the history of the club and the past teams are always the best. We don't need to sell everything.

I just wish they'd reign it in a little bit so that it felt a bit more like a proper community ground with our shared community history rather than a glorified advertising board with shit beer.

Opening a can of worms here but the King Power branding inside and outside the ground is excessive imo. The ground carries the name and it's on the front of the kits, it shouldn't need plastering over advertising hoardings at the front and back of the stands as well.

I totally agree. My point still stands if all we have to put up with is KP its not bad. Look what we could of had. Rather KP than a name change or playing in red. Also the KP logo is our blue and not a change.

I think one of the things our ground does need is more history in & around it. None of the stands are named after legends (Family Stand once was), and there's also no statues outside the stadium of former greats of the club.

I think most don't care, as is evidenced by the number of people in this thread saying they don't care.

It's one thing to appreciate history and tradition, as I'm sure most of us do, but it's another to go out of your way to moan about every detail that doesn't remain perfectly unchanged.

First it was the Walkers then The King Power now for sponsorship reasons it's being called the Leicester City Stadium.

What next.

OP, you need to change your name to Always Last Year (for the next 11 1/2 months anyhow.)

"Filbert St"'s proper name was the City Stadium, as born out by old road signs on Burnmoor St.

The new of a ground though will be whatever fans choose to call it.

Something like 16/20 German grounds are sponsored. Even Dortmund, the football hipsters demi-god club, has its ground sponsored? I really don't get the fuss. Call it what you want. Raw Dykes Road, Walkers, Filbert Way. We're in an era where we're supposed to be commercially competitive, despite the £100m we get from the PL. If it wasn't the KP it'd be the Singha Stadium, AirAsia Stadium or the Maryland Chicken Arena.

There's nothing wrong with having ambitions of an everyday clean stadium name, but it's so far detached from reality it's unbelievable.

What is wrong with you bunch of shallow fools?

All I'm asking is something remotely linked to our history...

Anfield.

Old Trafford.

Stamford Bridge.

Nou Camp.

Bernebeu.

City Ground.

Hillsborough.

St James's Park.

San Siro.

Stop your fixation with the last mere 10 years and think about the long term history of our great club.

KP? Seriously, is that the best we can do...

That's it, exactly.

The stadium is built on Freeman's Wharf (Filbert Way came much later). Why call it anything else ??

Yep, I like those a lot Chico and Spudulike:

Fosse Stadium or Freeman's Wharf.

More than happy with either of those...
