Next manager odds

Rowett is just a name people are mentioning because he played for us over a decade ago.

If he'd never played for us, he wouldn't be up for consideration at all.

And at this moment in time, he is completely the wrong choice.

My brother in law just pointed out that Paddy Power is offering odds on Curbishley, Sven and Giggs.

FFS.

Because if someone backs them it's easy money for them.

Yeah I hate it how bookmakers do this. I'm sure they had odds on an ostrich becoming the next manager after NP was sacked.

Mancini is not a poor choice. Solid defensive coach, with a no nonsense record when dealing with starlets.

I would be surprised if the players didn't respect him that is for sure

We need a coach who will take no messing, there will be fall out because when they are forced to look at themselves in the mirror some of this shower are going to run away but this season that is no great loss. I would love to have seen Jock Wallace tear in to this lot. I would look for a home grown manager with something to prove, and who will get us out of the Championship. Who ? Sadly not Pearson, junior queered that one for good, which is a shame because Pearson was building, but a similar sort of character.

Longer term we need someone who can change the whole  football approach from hoofball to football but they can't  start to do that until the summer and then only if we're safe.

We need someone urgently who can motivate a team of hoofers. Shakespeare knows them or MON can get this type of squad performing so one of them til the end of the season.

Do you really have faith in Shakey to make the necessary changes to our starting lineup that are required?

Do you think he'd drop Morgan for instance?

Betting markets like this are pretty much useless, there is zero liquidity. Something like 50 pound could make any manager favourite on paddypower.

Well I'm suggesting he may get the Morgan of last season and we have no replacements that have proved themselves against PL opposition just ones that needed a replay to beat Derby and failed to be a L1 side with 10 men. Same goes for the other back 4 places.

Thats fair enough

I just don't think Shakey will be ruthless enough with players that aren't performing, I mean he was picking the teams with Claudio, he had a say in these bizarre selections we are seeing and keeping players in the squad who were clearly out of form

I'm personally tired of our league winning players being deemed untouchable, I'd feel a lot better with a manager at the helm that's starting from scratch and is selecting players on current form

Not that there is much current form, but anybody associated with starting Musa week in week out when we've got Gray sitting on the bench twiddling his thumbs isn't going to fill me with confidence

Well we don't know how much influence or say he had in team selection and I was only suggesting until the summer because we're stuck with this squad where the recognised 1st team have badly under performed and the back ups haven't proved they're the answer.

As we're severely lacking players that are comfortable with the ball then any quality replacement manager trying to get this lot to play football on the deck could fall into the same trap Sousa did.

Rowett isn't the man for now. These players are capable of winning the league. It's not that they can't play. They are choosing not to play. What will turn that around and get past their self-centred huge egos? Not "up and coming". They need someone who can command THEIR respect from the first second. There is one astonishingly unlikely candidate - whether we all agree or not. He may not command our unilateral respect, but he probably would have theirs. Too weird? Probably. But I have a feeling the owners are smelling a disaster and may be tempted to eat humble pie to avoid it.

Pearson won't come back, thank God. The "Dog" has had his day.
