What will turn that around and get past their self-centred huge egos? Not "up and coming". They need someone who can command THEIR respect from the first second. There is one astonishingly unlikely candidate - whether we all agree or not. He may not command our unilateral respect, but he probably would have theirs. Too weird? Probably. But I have a feeling the owners are smelling a disaster and may be tempted to eat humble pie to avoid it.

Had Ranieri chosen to retire in the summer, he may have joined up. However, in our current position, I can't see him looking at us twice.
