Looks like they were enjoying it, it's always good to see players hitting the back of the net even in training.

Might only be a friendly, but that's a great result isn't it? They are a team you traditionally see in the UEFA cup.

Also that goal by Almerersch!!!! Wow! What a beauty!

Great result and a big difference in level of play between this game and our friendly against Club Brugge, where we were completely outplayed. It looks like the new coaching staff is doing a great job. Standard Liège is indeed a team who (normally) competes in the Europa League.

The goal by Allemeersch was indeed a real beauty. It's nice to see some of our youth players are showing some potential. Another kid who's doing great is Toon Raemaekers, a central defender. Let's hope they get some chances during the upcoming season. It's been to long since we had a youth player who became a real 1st team player.

...Central defenders were a bit suspect!!

Gave the ball away several times trying to pass out from the back. Your number 10 did that repeatedly and I thought OHL were lucky not to have conceded from their mistakes.

The fact that you attempted to be brave and play out (under pressure) from the back was nice to see and when perfected will make them an attractive team to watch. It is very brave for your new manager to introduce this new style of play, at a point when you are about to play, perhaps, the most important game in your history.

Our defense has been our Achilles heel for quiet some time now. When the club brought in Sascha Kotysch in January 2019 we got a lot better. This resulted in fighting of relegation and later on winning the 1st period. Unfortunately Kotysch got injured in the first game of the 2nd period and he was out for the rest of the season. At that moment we lost our defensive leader and conceded 31 goals in 16 games. If Kotysch doesn't get injured and Vercauteren doesn't leave us to join Anderlecht, we would have won the 2nd period and won automatical promotion. It's very clear we need a whole new defense, as the current players just aren't good enough. The club is doing everything they can to bring in new players, but since we still don't know in what league we will play players just don't want to sign for us. Our CEO even said so in a recent interview: players simple say to call them back when we know we are in the 1st division, otherwise no deal!

I absolutely get what you mean about the new playing style the manager is trying to introduce. It is a big risk, but on the other hand he also has to prepare for the upcoming season. This whole sitation is so messed up. Personally, I believe we have no chance to win the final. We are down 1-0 and we're playing a very strong side. The fact that we have 14 out of our players who are on temporarely contracts (until August 2nd) isn't an advantage either. Most of these players know they won't get a new contract, so why would they give it their all and risk getting injured? I'm telling you, chances of us winning this final are very slim. To be fair, I would've rather already know we were staying down in the 2nd division so we can build a team that can compete for promotion, that this situation.

Hold on to you hats ladies and gentlemen!!!

Waasland-Beveren went to court against the Belgian League as they decided Waasland-Beveren had to drop down to the 2nd division, The court has just decided that Waasland-Beveren shouldn't relegate!

This means yesterday"s decisions might all be overturned and we still get to go up to the 1st division automatically and play with 18 teams.

WHAT A SH*TSHOW!!!!!!!!!

Any updates on what's happening?
