KingsX Posted 9 March 2020 Share Posted 9 March 2020 All the Leuven matches I've watched, were via the site @Lizhang mentioned (and was kind enough to recommend to me). It's relatively clean and reliable as such things go. However, I could not link to yesterday's match. Hoping it works Saturday.
Bonanza Posted 12 March 2020 Share Posted 12 March 2020 Saturday's game will be postponed due to the Coronavirus. The date hasn't been decided yet, but all sport events in Belgium have been cancelled until March 31.

leuven Posted 2 April 2020 Share Posted 2 April 2020 it's possible that 2 teams will be promoted (OHL and Beerschot) and the bottom team remains in first division. The league would have 18 teams instead of 16 then and the play-off system would be dropped. Regular competition with 34 matches. However it's not decided yet and the possibility remains that the rematch of the promotion final has to be played behind closed doors. The Pro League have installed a work group now that will try to formulate a decision by April 15th. To be continued. 2

leuven Posted 19 April 2020 Share Posted 19 April 2020 the pro league teams will vote at the end of this week to confirm that the season will be stopped. No idea if they will decide at the same time if the second leg of the promotion final will also be cancelled. They might wait until May 10th to decide which competition format will be used next season in divisions 1A and 1B as currently 7 of the 24 pro league teams (1A + 1B combined) have not received a license to play professional next season. They have appealed this decision and there has to be a ruling before May 10th. This uncertainty makes it impossible at this time for our club to negotiate transfers as we don't know in which division we will play.

Bonanza Posted 15 May 2020 Share Posted 15 May 2020 (edited) We finally have a decision. The season is over, but OHL and Beerschot still have to play their final game to decide who wins promotion to the 1st division. The last couple of weeks have been really hectic, with a lot of rumors going around about what would happen in Belgian football. The Belgian government decided that all sporting events are cancelled until the 1st of August. The League assembled a taskforce to work out a solution for this and the upcoming season. Their decision was stop this season and start next season with 18 teams (instead of 16) in the 1st division and give the playoff system a makeover. This would mean both OHL and Beerschot go up and Waasland-Beveren, who were in last place when the crisis started but still had an opportunity to fight of relegation would stay in the 1st division. This taskforce presented their results to the League, who completely overruled them, as they don't want 18 teams in the 1st division and they don't want to lose their play-off system Long story short, Waasland-Beveren will drop down to the 2nd division and OHL and Beerschot still have to play the 2nd leg of the final. As I said, our government has cancelled all sporting events until the 1st of August. Furthermore, the League wants to start the new season on the 15th of August. This means we have to play in the 1st week of August and we only have 1 week to prepare for the new season, either in the 1st division or 2nd division, which is totally ridiculous. Oh by the way, 14 out of 25 of our players are out of contract on the 30th of June. But don't worry, the chairman of the League already has a solution: Go and play the final game in Germany! I'm absolutely disgusted by our League today. Everybody already knows that the League only want to please the big teams, but this decision is a slap in the face! I agree that this seems unfair on you but surely you’d rather be given the chance to go up than have them void all you’ve worked for? Which it sounds like were the only 2 options at this stage. It’s Waasland that have caught the raw end of the deal Edited 15 May 2020 by Lambert09

I really sympathize with Waasland-Beveren as they don't even get a chance to fight for their spot, but at least they can start working on their squad for next season. OHL and Beerschot are still in the dark about what is going to happen. How can you start signing players if you don't know what league you're in next season? We still have an opportunity to get promoted, but we're at a big disadvantage. Beerschot won the first leg (1-0) in their own stadium in front of their fans. We worked hard all season to get homefield advantage, but now we have to play without our fans and maybe not even in our own stadium. The fact that they had the perfect solution (18 teams) and overruled it to please 2 or 3 big teams is just very frustrating.

Bonanza Posted 9 June 2020 Share Posted 9 June 2020 We just fired our manager, Vincent Euvrard. Vince came in as "co-manager" alongside Franky Vercauteren in February of last year. Officialy Euvrad was listed as manager with Vercauteren as his advisor, but everyone knew Vercauteren was the real manager and Euvrard was his assistent/apprentice. Under their management we fought of relegation last year. In October Vercauteren left the club to join Anderlecht, leaving Euvrard on his own. We still managed to win the 1st period, securing a place in the final to fight for promotion, but it all went downhill from thereon. We only finished 5th in the 2nd period and lost the first leg of the final against Beerschot. Top's statement: Vince took over during a difficult period and showed his qualities as a coach. He led the team to a 1st place halfway through the season. That good work resulted in a place in the final and a chance for promotion. Vince and his team deserve all the credit for this. ” However, momentum was lost during the second period and the board decided to intervene now. This is to achieve our goals this season and to use our full potential next season. ” "We thank Vince for his hard work and we wish him all the best in his further career." Assistant coaches Jo Mununga, Hans Visser and José Jeunechamps will take over from Vince and assume responsibility for the first team, as the club searches for a suitable successor.
