This is how you do Comms and fan engagement.

Straightforward video, with simple information and transparency about the expectations of people in that area.

Turn the current SS and the next block into safe standing areas. Chuck a few quid to those who whinge about sitting on another plastic seat and release a succinct message to clarify what the crack is.

It really is that simple isn't it?

But they don't want to upset people! Now sit down (we don't care if you don't want to sit down) and use your digital ticket (that you didn't ask for).

We are getting left behind. We're a dot on the horizon, we're so far back! Our club need to get a grip, and start to understand what matters to the fans

(On another note, from watching that video, why haven't we got that statue of Gordon Banks? We really are pathetic)

Anthony Emmerson that leads the Stoke FE is the best out there by far.

He’s a Hartlepool fan, he understands what fans want, how fans think and he’s a true visionary.

He did great work at Boro with the Red Faction and families before he joined Stoke.

The few like him are a rare breed.

At the Foxes Trust AGM in March, the question was raised by a new member as to what the Trust’s stance was on the issue of safe standing.

The answer from the board at the time was that their members didn’t deem it an important issue. The Trust had sent a survey out a few years prior and their member base had not been strongly for safe standing so the Trust hadn’t been speaking with the club on it. This might explain why the club have found it easy to ignore.

The question was put to the room on the night as to who was in favour of safe standing and the response was overwhelmingly positive. The Trust resolved to speak with the club about it but we do not know what has happened since.

To us, this highlighted two issues:

1) The Trust were of the mindset that they would only speak with the club about an issue if their members explicitly said they cared about it

2) The Trust didn’t have either the means or the desire to canvass opinion across the whole fanbase on key issues like this

Our intention for a future Trust is that it has its finger on the pulse across the key issues affecting the entire fan base and not just members. Many of those involved with our reform campaign share the same opinion on safe standing as UFS and would like to join forces in pushing this issue with our club who, as shown by the UFS research, are badly behind on this issue.

At the AGM referred to above there was a very clear vote in favour of safe standing, so our stance changed.

More recently we published our survey results (members and wider fan base) both had a very clear majority in favour and the survey results have been shared with the club.

This week..

.. we were represented at the 90 Minutes session on Tuesday night which was publicised as an open session and one of the main topics we raised was safe standing

.. UFS posted their latest research which we shared on our social media accounts yesterday

We still believe UFS should lead the Safe Standing campaign, but we will actively support them

Your stance may have changed now but it’s just not good enough is it? Safe standing has been a vital issue for large sections of the fanbase for years. How can you not know that?!

The club probably don't like what Southampton have done, because it shows what can be achieved in the same style of stadium. It's highly doubtful they would have thought in these terms, but Preston away last season should have been looked upon as inspiration of what can be achieved by having an 'end' behind the goal. Granted, Preston was a one-off but the current setup means that level of atmosphere cannot be replicated at home games.

They don't care about atmosphere though, unlike other clubs.

Given the Foxes Trust is the only group with official Supporters Trust status, we don’t.

If you believe the Trust should be taking a joint leading role with UFS on safe standing then join and vote for reform at the Special General Meeting.

Not sure. I know Norwich, for instance, do not have good club-supporter relations yet they have installed this.

Think those in charge just felt we'll give them free cakes and scarves and that will be enough. Our fans demanding this, singing sections, general sale has taken them aback and the excuses haven't washed.

The Foxes Trust has always had agreements with other supporters groups about certain areas that they focus on, as an example not arranging away coaches (which some Trusts do) as the OSC do.

In terms of safe standing, while it was the Trust who arranged the first demo of the rail seating at The Counting House (this was before UFS was formed) and the club declined to attend, it is clear that UFS had led this campaign for many years and we feel they should gain the main credit when it is introduced, along with our support now we have a clear mandate to do so

The club just don’t care about the fans. They only want our money.

Man city's redevelopment to include safe standing

And will also reduce ticket prices for the younger fans.

Configuration of the Etihad Stadium’s North Stand expansion revealed (mancity.com)

Once construction is complete, the expanded North Stand will increase the Etihad Stadium’s capacity to more than 60,000, with the stand itself featuring a broad range of seating options, including a large rail-seating area.

During these discussions, it was clear that fans share our view on the importance of adding rail seating to the expanded North Stand. As such, the Club will introduce a minimum of 3,000 rail seats as part of the expansion, with the option of increasing this allocation ahead of opening should there be further demand.

In doing so, the noise created by the expanded North Stand will complement the rest of the Etihad Stadium, with rail seating sections at opposite ends of the pitch creating an electric atmosphere.

In addition to the atmosphere, the expanded North Stand will create a legacy by establishing new pathways for the next generation of Manchester City fans to enjoy matches at the Etihad Stadium. To achieve this, we will ringfence a significant number of tickets specifically for fans aged 21 or under.

Today’s announcement follows lengthy consultations with a range of fans throughout the 2023/24 season to understand how we can create best-in-class experiences that contribute to creating a fantastic atmosphere on matchday.

Only in our dreams.

We have today sent our full 34 page review to LCFC, including the CEO and Operations Director. We will be pushing for immediate progress, under the mandate of the demand shown by our survey in 2017, the club's own survey conducted with Legends International in 2019 and the recent Foxestrust survey.

I take it you’ve had zero response?

Every questionnaire I’m filling out regarding the match I’m selecting atmosphere to comment on the need for safe standing.. I don’t know why I bother half the time but surely it’ll make a difference if many more do it..
