I’m happy with this from the club mainly because I fully expected for it to be only in the areas that stand right now, atmosphere is gonna stay shite because the issue we are gonna have even more now is 3 parts of the stadium singing at different times but there not being enough people in each section to make a big difference around the stadium. However I’m sat in G1 so glad to see I’ll be in a standing section next season connected with UFS

That is awful how they’re doing this. Done the bare minimum for safe standing to not upset people! A whole Kop safe standing was the way to do it and they’ve failed miserably! God sake look around the grounds, pretty much every ground behind the goal/s is all standing whether it be safe standing or not 💀 we must have the most sitters at home in the country, terrible!!

Even if it wasn't the whole Kop, they could have done G1, SK1 and SK2. Just doing the back rows is lame and properly half arsed.

It just stinks of not wanting to upset the 'it's my seat' people.

This was my first thought. Resistance needed to sitting.  Theyve done half a job

Plus all the anti section people latching on with 'you've got other standing areas being provided'. The club have listened blah blah

Yep bang on, a full corner like that would’ve been good, they’ve took the easy way out as usual and the cheapest option.

in my opinion another huge fail from the club, but I’m not surprised

The line given by the club is they need to know the demand to really implement it further.

There wasn’t great up take on the appointments they did or the survey. There’s scope for it but only if people really want it

At the very least id have expected the whole of sk1 to be standing.  It makes no sense

Fair play to LCFC on this

They’ve took their time, dragged their heels but, 13/14 years later have finally listened!

No, not fair play.

They're doing the bare minimum. 70% of the areas they’re putting rails in are already “standing sections”.

I’d say “fair play” if they installed them throughout the kop (or even the back half), in addition to K1 and L1.

And how random is it to have safe standing in P/P1?

As other have said, they’re not doing it because they care about the fans. They’re doing it because they HAVE to.

Rant over.

Spin slightly the other way, they have no data which tells them people actually want it more than the 4K also places which will be made.

That’s the harsh end of it.

But they didn’t have to did they

14 years ago they didn’t even want SSR on their premises as they didn’t want to be associated with it.

Granted, times have changed in regards other clubs coming on board with it (way) before us.

It’s a small win for the fans. That’s how I see it

Hi, this is Jon Darch from the Safe Standing Roadshow. Please take a minute to lend the safe standing campaign your vital support.

As you probably know, the EFL supports safe standing, the FA chairman wants it and the EPL clubs are discussing it. After many years of campaigning, we are almost at the point where government will look seriously at introducing it.

But we're not quite there.

A working showcase will greatly strengthen our case. It will show MPs that safe standing DOES work in this country.

So act now! Help this crowdfunding campaign being run by local fans and the FSF to create this important showcase to prove our point!

The venue will be Shrewsbury Town. But this is absolutely NOT about just one club. It's about EVERY club. And EVERY fan.

If you believe that ALL fans of ALL clubs should have the choice to sit or stand, act now!

Contribute here. Even just a pound or two will help. More if you can afford it. There are some great rewards in return.

But most of all you will be helping to make safe standing happen.

Let's get this showcase up and running ASAP, so that when discussions take place with government they can't say it wouldn't work in England or Wales.

Let's show them it can!

The time to do your bit is here and now!

Thanks!

This chap has worked tirelessly on getting it in this country. He has been in dialogue with UFS for years, we thanked him earlier.

There needs to be more fans pushing for it. More than just replying to their social media pages.

The inperson and online discussions the clue opened up had low attendance which was a big shame.

And you trust that line?

Data says the majority of fans don’t want digital but they ignore that!

I don’t but at the moment there’s not awful lot of evidence of the fanbase wanting safe standing en masse.

If there was, the club can be taken to task on it and there’s a larger story there for media sources to pick up on as an example of the relationship between LCFC and its fanbase disappearing

We’ve got a few seasons ahead of everyone having about 4 seats each anyway. We can lie down, stand up, do as we please.

UFS got a message in the week that a fan at West Ham was told by one of the clubs stewards there that extra ticketing checks are coming for them on Sunday.

Piss take.

What do you think UFS will do in regards this update of the section only partially being standing? Will they continue from the front, or move back to the back of SK1? It seems it puts the group in a position they shouldn't have to be in.

There are some words coming out tonight.

My own thoughts would be absolutely not go to back of the stand again. The group has a big summer ahead with really wanting to try and grow and harness younger fans and get them along with us.

What a waste of time and money this is. Apart from G1 all those areas stand anyway. This club cannot do anything useful. Too worried about upseting the old bids. Another opportunity wasted.

Top 6 or 7 rows stand in G.

The cynic in me thinks this may have been intentional/targeted.  I have no evidence of this but the one place in all of the ground youd expect to be a standing area, the front of sk1 around UFS would be that area

That crossed my mind too. It makes zero sense not making that area all standing.
