I think the only risk mayweather took was  whether or not he could make it at least look like real fight and not totally ruin his reputation in boxing. Did mcgregor actually land a proper punch.

What is really amazing is the stamina required to be a pro boxer! Mayweather is a retired 40 year old man.

Mayweather seems to use an Aikido style (see video below) in his boxing where he uses his opponents strength to defeat them. McGregor says he's a master of all fighting traditions but going so offensive against Mayweather was the worst thing he could have done. He couldn't really go defensive either, so he could never win either way. I suppose going so offensive was more of a crowd pleaser so I presume that' why he did...
