International Break/Non-League Day

Recommended Posts

So where if at all are people getting their football fix this weekend? Does anyone on here take in a non-league game when the event day comes around? I'm off to Northampton with a mate to cheer on Bristol Rovers as they were my team of choice when I lived down there; £22 does seem expensive when I look and realise it's non-league day and I could've gone local for a fiver!

With the Ravens?

That's the one. Looking at a 10 hour journey there and back, so I'm hoping we at least get a decent performance haha

That's devotion; not sure if I could follow a local side around to that extent! Fair play to you. Having a decent season aren't they?

It's kind of ingrained now, started following them when I was getting a bit disillusioned with Leicester, just before NP took over.

Wasn't enjoying the match day as a whole and was paying a fair bit for it. Now I can watch it for a tenner a game and have a beer while watching it :D

It's a bit of a roller coaster, started off poorly but as we gradually improved the squad, the performances improved so much we won 6 in 7.

Tailing off a bit with a few losses and draws recently. Overall though we're looking good, hoping for a decent run in the FA Trophy as we went out at the first hurdle in the FA Cup haha.

What a breath of fresh air. Love reading about this rather than a another tedious 100 page thread about the latest Carlos Kickaball we may or may not be signing. You made me google Coalville Town and read about their history. Thanks and good luck on Saturday!

Long time since I've been to a local town game. That was when Wednesday, United, Doncaster etc used to turn up for friendlies.

I think Stocksbridge are in town but I think it's mid week sometime next week. Nice little local derby though.

Milton Keynes v Bradford for me. Bradford up in third and a team I would personally love to see get back up to the Championship. £22 for this as well which isn't brilliant but it's only a 15 minute drive, so not too bad.

I've been wanting Bradford to get back into the second tier for ages now.

Hope they do it this season.

I was the same around 2007-10, me and my Dad started going to Hinckley United for most of the  home games; I won a pair of season tickets through the Non-League paper for the 08/09 and we just kept going. From there I got into going to Oadby, Thurnby, Aylestone Park amongst a few others. Not been to Coalville since the Grimsby game. Just noticed that Lee Cox is playing there now as well; he's fallen a bit hasn't he?
