Very sad. Was lucky enough to speak to him a few times, an absolute diamond.

Very saddened to hear about Jimmy's death. Always loved listening to him on the radio. He had a lovely voice and was always articulate and thoughtful in his analysis.

 

Sounds like an absolutely lovely bloke by everyone who knew him

Huge loss to football, fantastic summariser and seemingly an exceptional player (reaching a European Cup final also shows he had fair ability as a manager too).

 

Will be sorely missed.

J.Bloomfield, played in a time, where defenders were idolised.best RB of his time, probably one of the fittest.

In my young child-days, a legend a hero.Probably typerfies what we older fans

believes how a player should be, and why we idolised them...

Armfield, B.Moore, Mathews . and a few more, fair, and hard, shame abour WCup 66, he did deserve

the game and the playing medal. True great and legends of my childhood....
