Europa league spot

Is it possible to qualify for he Europa League for finishing in 8th place if Man City wins the champions league, and Arsenal wins the Europa League? Or is 7th place the worst you can do and still make it in without winning a cup competition?

Nope. Only 7 teams. If Arsenal wins Europa League, then there are 5 teams in CL and 2 in EL (like this year.)

we have the advantage over burnley and everton in terms of squad quality and the fixture list is in our favour. there is no reason ehy we cant unless there is a mass exodus this transfer window

I wouldn't agree the fixture list is in Leicester's favour.  If you're scrapping against relegation, you want the easy games at home because if you win 2 out of every 6, you're OK.  When you're chasing the top and you want to win 4 out of 6, you want the odd "easy" game away.  We're both better than "2 out of 6" teams.

 

Interestingly, with 16 games left, Burnley and Leicester have (barring home and away differences) the same fixture list.  We've both got everyone to play apart from Huddersfield, Man U, and Liverpool.

If we won the FA cup and the league did finish that way, would that mean that Arsenal didn't qualify for Europe? Because that would give me almost as much joy as winning the cup in the first place!

Did the runner-up used to be awarded the UEFA spot or have I imagined that? 

 

I’ve no idea what goes on now it’s the Europa League.
