Match Ratings : Leicester City 1-1 Stoke City - Results & Man of the Match

Lol, Albrighton 4th best player despite being crap, as I expected. MOTM should've gone to Maguire but whatever.

Nacho behind Vardy will never work. Especially if we don't keep the ball on the floor. A Manchester City fan has said for a couple of months that we have no clue how to use him and I'm starting to think that he was bang on the money.

Can't see Silva's rating.

Albrighton certainly wasn't crap. He certainly wasn't great either. No one was. But he forced the goal and at least put a shift in.

I'd have given MOM to one of the centre halves

Until Shinji recovers from his injury, Puel has no choice but to play Gray and Nacho behind Vardy. They both suck at that position, but its not like there is much of a choice.

Dont forget that Puel still didn't get a chance to build his team, we will have to wait until after the summer transfer window for that.

Sorry but quantity never won over quality. He could have ran 250 miles for all I care, his crosses, passes and free kicks were woeful. He's been utterly poor going forward.

Maguire largely deserved it but Morgan? Hell, no. Good display but his performance is miles away from Maguire's or Mahrez's.

Defensive 4-5-1 at home against a relegation contender? Yeah right.

Puel fcked up, that's all. Gray doesn't have the brains to play as 10 and never will. I'd have put Mahrez there even he sucks in that role.

Or play a creative midfielder instead of a an upgraded Andy King or switch to 4-3-3 with either Diabate or Gray left wide.

If anything shows how football is a game of inches this is it.

Maguire or James hit or head the ball just slightly to either side we win and all those ratings go up at least a point each.

if FIF sees those ratings, he would lose it. lol

I disagree with your assessment of Albrighton but, my goodness, the whole world except Puel could see that we desperately needed a change in the midfield.

Mahrez MOTM despite giving the ball away about 100 times lol

Well not quite that often but enough to get a dud mark. And he messed up that one-on-one.

Normally I agree with these ratings but Mahrez getting MotM for this one is very odd.

God knows why. They're not far wrong at all.

FIF rates Gray higher than he should and he thought Mahrez had a disastrous game. But tbf, i said that riyad had a bad game, the only problem is, no one had a better game so he got MOTM.

Their keeper made a game saving save, ours did not. Shaqiri put his stamp on the game, Mahrez did not. That's about it.

?!?!?!?!?!

Gray who was anonymous against Mahrez who wasn't actually that bad at all?

We had our best spell of the game when Gray went off.

That's FIF for you. For whatever reason he absolutely can't stand Mahrez. You'd be hard pressed to find any positive post about him. I think that he sees Mahrez as a hurdle that prevents Gray to thrive.

Albrighton was MOTM for me. Nobody showed any sort of quality but Albrighton worked hard, as usual, don't understand why he's so low down. Says it all when Diabaté was third as a late sub, which I think is deserved, showed a few decent turns, few nice touches, which was more than most.

Albrighton was my MOTM. Not sure where all the negative comments for him have come from.

Think the general feeling is that he works hard, but lacks quality into the box, and tends to hoof it, or hoof aimlessly conceding possession,  so work rate is all good, but doesn’t replace quality, which I agree with.

All entitled to their opinions, but take away the he worked hard bit, he was so wasteful in possession, crosses in either hit their first defender, or over hit, so in my opinion, never man of the match

I think a lot of what he does goes un noticed. His defensive work is more than just work rate, and he always makes himself available. Sets the tone for the rest of the team. Similar story to Chilwell last week, he made himself available so so many times down the left for us. Played pretty well I thought.

I understand what your saying about the defending, don’t dispute he puts a shift in, but he also creates problems by giving the ball away easy with the hoofs, poor crossing, and miss placed passes, he gave the ball away a hell of a lot against stoke.

This is the point I’m trying to get across, he’s main job as a winger is to create, and his final ball is awful most of the time.

We are not very potent at present but then you look at the midfield,

James - defensive, slow, tippy tappy, doesn’t move it quick, and is only interested in short, Safe passes, retaining possession.

nididi, dynamic defensive midfielder, covers for James lack of mobility.

albrighton- technically not gifted on the ball, allegedly a great crosser of the ball, no where near consistent enough for me, lacks pace, more defensively minded.

Then mahrez, our only creative hope.

So going back to stoke, how poor his play was, not his work rate, he should have been taken out earlier in the game, and with that midfield, we are very ordinary, but again, only my opinion
