Only just picked up on this thread its diabolical.

Needs to stop we have Birch and others doing charity stuff hospital visits all manner of good deeds

Desperate stuff to make a few bob.

The owners are businessmen, their focus is making money. The charity stuff and the free beer etc. is all a bit of a bluff - e.g. Birch is getting paid anyway, so why not throw in some stuff that's good PR ? And a few beers ? Go  back through Foxestalk and see how much goodwill they bought with the small cost involved.

Cynical ? Well perhaps, but none of us were born that way.

I don’t think I’d pay to see my kids holding hands with strange men. Seems a bit odd to me.

...Although seeing a three year-old take 58 kicks to get a ball in the net from a muddy penalty spot was always scintillating pre-match entertainment, back in the day.

Business is discusting in this new era . There are no values or loyalty all about money and robbing the public and abusing the employees . Raping the planet exploiting the poor. Shame on the world as a whole. But the times are a changing .

It's 80 grand a year.

It's absloutley throw away money to a club like ours. Just one of the many ways clubs like ours are needlessly taking the game away from the demographic that made it great in the first place. The club has a duty to the community if you ask me as it owes a lot to it, it should not look to exploit it for relative pocket change.

I don't disagree ..... but think you're having a wee in a gail if you think anything will change, or it's any different any where else

Well I’ll agree on the first point.

The article clearly stated 12 teams provide free games, nine of which don’t charge at all. So at the time of writing it clearly was different elsewhere.

If people are willing to spend this money for their kids to be a mascot, then they're the ones to blame.

If your kids keep pestering you to spend it you could always say NO.

There's kids in this world that have to walk 500 miles a day for a glass of clean water. So just tell your brat to get a grip and stop being a little tw@.

Remember clubs only charge this money because people pay it.
