What’s wrong with roomy, big comfortable touring burger van?

The mrs refuses to ‘ever get on a motorbike’

(Here come the jokes about it ‘not being a motorbike’) etc..

She’s a very girly girl, hence it’s a no no.

I think we’re gonna do the boat trip idea.

Sorry Col but when I saw it is Sam Smith that you are going to see I thought you undeserving of any help ;)

You could even argue that we had a duty to misdirect him.

Get the Thames Clipper from the Eye, Embankment or Westminster. Takes about an hour but theres a bar on board and its less than a tenner a throw, plus it's the scenic route.

Cheapest and easiest will always be the tube.

This. You can use an Oyster card or contactless on the Thames Clipper boats too, plus they often run more boats from North Greewich pier when events are on at the O2. The boats use a different zone system (east, central, west zones) to the tube so won't be part of a daily cap though. Nearest pier to Victoria is Millbank but boats from there don't serve North Greenwich. If you want to be really cheap then the 188 bus runs from central London (Holborn, Waterloo) to North Greenwich bus station.

Bless you all except those who don’t like Sam Smith.

That’s just plain silly and undeserving of any further discussion.

He’s only jealous like the rest of us who wish we were still loved up and going out on dates with our wives like you :(

Take my wife out lots of places, we go out together at least every week.

I just take her to nice places.

And if not listening to Sam Smith makes me a nerd, I am content. Though I prefer geek.

As every man and his dog have suggested,  tube is your best bet.

However,  it is also worthwhile to notice that Victoria coach station is about 5-7 minutes walk from the underground station.  Just ask someone for directions.

You could always try swinging a cat around your head for the same effect!

Cheers guys. Just booked to go on the river cruise from Westminster Bridge to Greenwich. We thought we’d kill two birds and take in the sights from the river on the way.

Appreciated

Just FYI Greenwich pier is not near the O2. It's in Greenwich town centre next to the Cutty Sark. North Greenwich pier is the one next to the O2.

We took the boat tour from Westminster Peir to Greenwich. The weather was super and the tour was really interesting. We passed by an old boozer, owned by Ian Mackellan and an apartment that is on the market for 6.75 mill, owned by Helen Mirren :o

Canary Wharfe from the river really is quite something.

And Sam Smith.... just wow. The O2 was sold out and rocking.

Cheers for the travel advice peeps.
