Cleveland Indians my first sporting love, since I was seven.  In an hour I will tune into their opener.  One of the best managed clubs in all of professional sport -- which allows me to see a club that’s a financial poor relation make the playoffs as many years as not.

I’m fascinated to find a European baseball fan, because I have taken both English and German folks to games, and it is bloody impossible to explain the sport to someone who’s never seen it.  You never realize that something you breathe like air, because you’ve played and watched it since you could run, is that complicated and full of arcane rules and strategy.

Futbol can be easily enjoyed on a basic level, and a body can get into it at whatever level of subtlety and understanding they please.  Unfortunately there’s no basic level for beisbol.

I used to play baseball in the French leagues for a couple of teams. I can claim to be the number 1 British player in the league for a season :D. It's probably as easy to explain to foreigners as cricket is.

In answer to the OP I'm a Marlins fan due to my Dolphin connections from before the franchise was up and running.

So, there will be two Red Sox - Yankees games in London in June 2019.  Must have been a contingency plan for filling the stadium after Wham went down lol (bummer we spoiled that).

That's as big a "name" marquee matchup as MLB has to offer, the complete opposite of the dreck the NFL usually sends over.  Will that matter?  Do enough people are about baseball to sell those games out?  Any of you who would go?

I am currently 50/50 whether to go.

Watching Baseball in the USA is a great experience. However watching it on TV for a sustained period is some much harder.

The atmosphere and stadiums when attending making your day great watching live. It’s like Cricket in that sense, relaxing have a beer.

They are really going to struggle creating that same feeling at the Olympic Stadium. It’s an awful sports stadium.

Went to see Giants v Reds on my honeymoon, absolutely love the sport, 100% going to try for tickets to the games in London. Have a soft spot for the Tribe and the Giants, but overall I'm anyone but the Yankees.

Went to a Phillies game when I was over there so have followed them since. They seem to have picked up a bit this season after a few dreadful years.

Won't bother with the London game- can't get on board with league matches being played abroad, and it wouldn't be the same as watching it in America anyway.

The Oval was touted as the venue for the Olympics before baseball was dropped from the roster. Probably a bit difficult to convince any of the major cricket grounds to essentially fvck up their wicket and outfield in the middle of the season to accommodate a different sport.

Went to NY Yankees v Pittsburgh Pirates a few years ago. Great to watch the American public constantly going back & forth for burgers, mac n cheese, ice creams, popcorn, hot dogs, coca cola etc. it really is a fast food fest.

More interesting than what was going on in & around the diamond. Do not know who won as we left after 3 hours with the game nowhere near finished.
