Was only messing. I would genuinely love to do it.

Search Google images for Cala Turqueta, Cala Macarella, Cala Macarelleta and Cala Mitjana.

Then imagine waking there at dawn without another person in sight.

I hired a Personal Trainer ..    he holds me ...   I have a session with him ...   he is all over me like a rash ..    he pushes so much harder ...

When I'm on my own ..   I'm less focused   when he's not there

I only have an hour a week with him ..    but it sets me up for the rest of the week.

You dirty fooker !!

I go in stages, was doing 4/5k a day for a few weeks but now I’m back on the weights I have toned it down a bit.

I’ve never done weights really…. Just run, I’m a member of a virtual club (mates on Strava) as I prefer going out on my own, but, I always try to make sure I feature in the top ten on the leaderboard

retired from football, having played (badly!) all my life, last year after twisting my ankle badly…. I miss it ☹️

I’m still lifting (or trying to lift) and doing 15 miles a week. Snag is since my foster boy had to leave about 8 weeks ago because of harm issues, I’ve been stressed and struggling. It’s like a bereavement oddly. I’ve lost 7kg in weight in 3 months and I have had a presence in my right side constantly for about 8 weeks or so. I’ve had clear bloods and ultrasound and have to have an endoscopy this week. If I’m honest, I fear the worst as I have previous history of intestinal problems from childhood. Still running / jogging though but scared a bit for my wife if it’s bad news. Probably just the stress of it all. I’m uncertain why I’m writing this here and now and chosen this thread. I’ve not been myself for a while and that’s probably evident from the lack of: patience, tone and phraseology of my posting over the past couple of months. Apologies for that.

No need to apologise Swan ..   and I hope it turns out to be nothing.     Easier said than done but try not to dwell on it ...   it won’t make any difference to the result.

Mate, I'm sorry to hear this.

Intestinal problems (or lack of a large intestine as it is now) and endoscopy's are my specialist subject :(

All I know is that they have wonder drugs now and the R&D has improved massively since my surgery 15 years ago. Stress was definitely a contributing factor for me. If only I knew then what I know now...

At least you're doing your best to keep fit and healthy and I wish you all the very best this week.

I'm always available if you want a chat or DM mate. Good luck :fc:

No need to apologise, sounds like you are going through a really rough patch and I can’t begin to imagine having a member of your family just leave. I’m sure the medical stuff will sort itself out and you will get back on it.

I haven’t ever been in that situation but when I’m feeling pretty shitty a run can help to sort my head out. Fingers crossed it all goes ok mate.

Don’t sweat it, Swanny, we’ve all brought our shit on to the forum at one time or another.

I hope it works out ok, mate.

Any runners on here?  We could start up a FoxesTalk Strava running club

i do around 25-30km a week an average plod

i love running - it becomes quite a addictive…. I never ever regret going for a run!  Did 10km yesterday from Bushby, across to Houghton, then Stoughton and back…. Glorious isolation and only came across 2 dog walkers and a farmer ?‍?

There's quite a few of us I think, certainly a number of people were running HMs back in September/October time.

I absolutely love it, really helps with mental demons and I feel so much better physically for it as well. Was working back up to ~20-30 mpw but then my knee blew up in November. Done the usual RICE stuff and other strengthening work in the meantime, but every time I think I'm clear to run I've managed 2-3 runs before it flares up again. Super frustrating.

Signed up for a few races already this year which I'm looking forward to, providing I can get the aforementioned issues in order. Signing up to each of the local league races as and when they open (so far, West End 8 and Bosworth Half, both in May) and have intentions of my first marathon in October (Leicester, obviously). Equinox as well in September which should be 'fun' :D

Maybe I will start a separate thread and get a virtual club going…?!

sorry to hear about your knee…. My lower back goes periodically and I just need to rest it for a week…. Off on an 8km lunchtime run today…

i quite fancy working towards a half marathon…. The Bosworth one looked good, but, i’m on the lash with my mates in Seville (No Chelsea game for me ☹️), so, will have to do something else…

I’m not really the racing type, but, may put myself in for a couple just for the hell if it!

Go for it :)

Just one of those things I guess. If it wasn't my knee it'd be something else. Consistency has been hard to come by of late :/

I love races - usually a solo runner so its a nice change to run with pacing and support etc., and I'm pretty competitive so its great fun. My dad runs as well, and although I have age on my side he's been running much longer so we're pretty evenly matched currently, which makes for some fun races.

I can still beat my son (he’s 16)!  Not sure how long that would last though!

when I work out how to make a Strava club,  I’ll start a thread on here
