Maybe it possible we get both Grealish and Maddison as a result of this. What like a 4-2-3-1 formation or like an agreesive 3 at the back?
Popular Post urban.spaceman Posted 2 June 2018 Popular Post Posted 2 June 2018 Here's mine: Kasper Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Kante Albrighton Okazaki Vardy 1 3 1

Always busts a gut for this team, can actually cross a ball, Diabate isn't ready to start week in week out. Albrighton slows every attack down, doesn't score enough goals (I think he managed just 2 last season) and finished the season with 7 assists despite the fact he crosses about 10 times a game (Iheanacho rarely started games but finished the season with 4 assists which is only 3 less). His position can be massively improved upon. There's no "sudden dislike" from me, I've said all along he can be improved. Edited 2 June 2018 by Fox92 1
Guest Kopfkino Posted 2 June 2018 Posted 2 June 2018 Have also been thinking for a while we're going to be more narrow with the three behind Vardy. When Puel first joined we were at our best with the fluidity of Mahrez, Gray and Albrighton interchanging behind Vardy and being more central. For whatever reason we then went back to putting them back out wide which I don't think worked for Gray or Albrighton. Think we'll set up not too dissimilar to Spurs actually and I like that we're seemingly looking at exciting younger players. Looks more like we have a plan of what we want to do now and are building within that a team that can grow together and has likely resale value.

dormelcfc Posted 2 June 2018 Posted 2 June 2018 Find it strange the amount of people omitting Iborra. I personally think we play better when he is in the side. If my ideal transfers would go through, would love the team to look like this. Schmeichel Pereira Maguire Evans Chilwell Iborra N'didi Maddison Iheanacho Vardy 3

You're sounding like Col now banging on about a midfielder not scoring enough. Albrighton gives 100%, Albrighton is the best crosser we have, 7 assists last season is decent. Sticking Diabate, Gray or Grealish in his place wouldn't be an improvement. 1

He is the best crosser, I never doubted that, but the hardworking/100% argument is boring. I'd rather have a more technical player like Mahrez. All people ever seem to fall back on is "well at least he gives 100%". I don't think Diabate is an improvement - I'm still unsure about him - but we have got the money to go out and get a better winger than Albrighton. Also I like midfielders to score goals. Our only threat from midfield is generally Mahrez. Edited 2 June 2018 by Fox92

Albrighton also tucks in on the left hand side of midfield, and does some great defensive work there when we don’t have the ball (well demonstrated in our title winning side). His assists and crossing ability speaks for its self. Underrated player imo, and should retain his place in the starting 11

Having a technical player like Mahrez is all well and good but just like Mahrez himself, he'd look a class above one minute then frustrate the shit out of you the next. Albrighton had some great moments last season, that Chelsea game in the Cup he was absolutely phenomenal, I'd still start Albrighton over Diabate and Gray any day, Albrighton offers that balance and he's our best winger defensively, having two fully attacking minded wingers either side would end up costing us.

His corners are generally poor, all he seems to do now is cross it. We could have a 5ft 5 striker on the pitch, it wouldn't stop him. He needs to be less predictable, just cutting inside all the time and swinging a ball in isn't good enough (unless we are playing with a big number 9). He's been getting away with his lack of goals because (Not just Marc, other midfielders aswell) because Mahrez usually gets a fair few. I like Marc, he's a hard worker and a good pro, but with Mahrez leaving, he either needs to get more goals and become a bigge goal threat or we need to sign someone who will. 1

Nothing wrong with that. Good assists ratio, doing those crosses too. Yes, corners are a weak point for us as a whole. The blame for this can’t be laid wholey at Albrightons door

It’s an interesting one really, Iborra is a good player, but for me he’ll probably be moved on because of his age maybe next summer, should have had more game time last season though that’s for sure!

Is a bit slightly worrying when it comes to goals especially with Riyad leaving, the players behind Vardy have to chip in or we could struggle in that department otherwise, but with additions of potentially Maddison or Grealish and Iheanacho if played consistently we could be okay.

Harry5 Posted 2 June 2018 Posted 2 June 2018 Butland (time to say bye to schmeichel) Pereria Lascelles (is he realistic? Please not Evans!) Maguire Chilwel (he will come good, give him time) Loftus-Cheek (again, is he realistic?) Ndidi (he will be better than Kante, mark my words) Lemina (should have signed him last season! Drinkwaters replacement imo) Now it gets trickey... Maddison (will regret it if we don't get him) Kasper Dolberg (the next De Bruyne) God (vardy!) Bench: Iheanacho Grey (give him time) Grealish (massive risk, but one worth taking) Silva Ibbora Amartry (good enough for the bench but I think he will come good) Jakupovic Let's finish 7th next season!! Top 6 is not going to happen, let's be honest, but with that team, over a couple of years, anything is possible... 1

What could possibly go wrong? 20 to 40m player bought for the bench.
