Simon Yates to be crowned world tour champion as he will finish top of this years cycling rankings adding to a great year for him and an amazing one for British cyclists with geraint Thomas fourth in the rankings and Chris Froome ninth. Simon Yates finishes ahead of the usually all conquering Peter sagan.

Rachel Mckinnon has become the first transgender woman to win a world title, she was born a biological male but identifies as a woman. policies concerning transgender women in sport have changed drastically over the years. Tansgender women must test below a specific level of testosterone for more than one year before being able to compete.

The broadcaster Sky are pulling out of professional cycling and will no longer sponsor the British team managed By Dave Brailsford.

their sponsorship has made the team the most successful cycling team in modern cycling history and it's likely that who ever sponsors the team from next year will probably not have as bigger budget or spending power that Sky had to help it dominate the Tour De France in the last few years.

Chris Froome is out of the Tour De France 2019 after a training ride accident.  Froome suffered a fractured right thighbone, fractured elbow and fractured ribs when he tried to blow his nose while travelling at high speed. what a terrible accident at the worst time for Froome. hope he comes back stronger after he has recovered, such a huge blow.

I've sometimes suffered the odd headache from blowing my nose too hard but to fracture half the bones in your body takes some serious blowing.

On the plus side at least he won't be spending 3 weeks this summer getting piss thrown in his face.

Struggling to be interested in the sprinters stages this year, no Cav, Kittel or Gaviria.

Had he been picked this could have been the year for Cav to pick up another couple of stages but only he really knows how fit he was.

I know what you mean the sprinters stages won't be the same and we all know Peter Sagan will win the green jersey again(yawn). I wish some other rider would step up and challenge him. yes he's a fantastic bike rider and is great to watch but what's the point if there is no competition, same with team Ineos/sky there needs to be completion.
