Only ever had three in over twenty years but the latest one is starting to rust at the inner joints and needs replacing, got it about 3 years

ago and it lacks the power of previous microwaves anyhow, Logik 800w E class.

Have been looking at the latest stuff on Amazon but am wondering if peeps can put forwards what they consider the best brand or model they know of, since I do not entirely trust Amazon customer reviews these days.

:)

There are safety standards that they all have to meet so really even the cheap ones are safe. I've found simple is best.

tip: don't put your cat in a microwave to dry it out.

I do wonder if modern stuff is just poor quality tat, had an Indesit electric cooker for

twenty years, accidentally set the grill alight a couple times:ph34r: and it still works perfectly.

Looking at microwaves on Amazon and a fair few do have rust issues, build quality must be all over the place?

Further evidence that Foxes Talk is becoming the Mumsnet of football forums.

Yeah, shame that general chat is not all about football, drinking, cars or fighting:doh:

We currently have an over the oven LG with extraction fan which is Ok.

At the last house we were very satisfied with a Sharp sensor type. Almost foolproof.

...Oh jeez - relax, it's a flippant irreverent comment, not intended to impinge on your sensitivities.

I'd probably just go for a manual one with the knob timer. I paid a lot for my electronic one but I've realised I never use any of the programs on it, I just shove stuff in and then have to get the digital timer sorted. Basically paid an extra £50 to have a digital timer and loads of preset programs (baked potato, pop corn, coffee etc..) that are never used as I'd just go with the time off the packet.

Yeah, I'm the same, I just want power and reliability, just do not want to pay cash for something that will rust up or something that cooks unevenly.

Allow me to recommend the Panasonic Steam Combination Microwave. This grants the power to steam, grill, bake and microwave your food with ease, and will doubtless revolutionise your culinary prowess. This 4-in-1 microwave also boasts built-in sensor technology - eliminating the need to set power levels, food weight or cooking time - 'inverter' technology so your food doesn't turn out over or under-cooked, allied to the added bonus of self-cleaning surfaces. It's a powerful 4-in-1 microwave, but although it's not the cheapest out there it's certainly a 'market leader'.

Can we talk about football, drinking, cars and fighting now? - because after all, that's all a football forum does.

I have a wireless airplay system, but my microwave oven interferes with it.

Found one that might suffice, Panasonic and a tad expensive but not seen any pics of rust and it has power to spare at 1000w, probably worth £127

Rust happens when you close the door straight after cooking, if you leave the door open the moisture inside will evaporate then no rust :)

Actually I often leave the door open but it never made a difference, so I've looked around for something decent, found a slightly older but similar model to the one I found earlier, one of a newer type of microwave on the Argos Ebay channel for £87 All black, 1000w 23 litre :D

Yeah don’t do that, it could ruin your microwave, the best way to dry a cat is....Trap his tail in the car window and drive one junction up the motorway. Or if you want to be boring, there is always the towel thing.

If that was a comment about dogs there'd be about 5 pages of overreacting snowflakes by now lol

You need a timer for your knob?

I can’t believe I didn’t get a bite with that tbh, I know it was obvious but that doesn’t normally matter in here.

Bought a Panasonic 1000watt, 23 litre inverter microwave, looked around, both the models I was looking at had good reviews on YouTube etc.,

Got it off the Argos Ebay channel, where I got my PC from and that was reduced in price massively too.
