I hope they put his quote underneath the statue:

“Our spirit exists because of the love we share for each other and the energy it helps to create, both on and off the pitch. And in the years to come it will continue to be our greatest asset.”

Yes, a thousand times over.

The Graham Taylor statue was viewed as pretty much spot on so I hope the same happens here.

Probably helped the Taylor family and club were involved during the whole process

Unlike some of those others high profile statues we've heard about this will be a statue outside the ground as a  life long tribute so naturally there will be great care taken.

The cost of this will be small change to KP and Leicester City. Really think the opportunity to fund this must be given to us/the fans. Would mean so much more.

The Foxes Trust along with the main supporters groups ( UFS, DSA, Foxes Pride) had it 80% set up to do so.

Hopefully they still go to the club with it, will mean more coming from the support.

Kind of conflicted really. I'm all for the statue of Khun Vichai, it's just the placement is raising litle concern - football is and always will be the most important thing at The King Power Stadium, Vichai was an outstanding owner & businessman with a passion for sport aswell as being a ruddy good chap but he never kicked a ball or stood on the touchline corralling his lads or called the shots tactically. He set the perfect familly atmosphere while letting it all grow harmoniously, showing trust to those he believed in and investing in the right areas with superb instinct.

I don't think he should be the first thing you see approaching the stadium as others have said, I think the West Side around the official entrance would be more appropriate. Still very prominant, not at all hiden away and from the same direction he can still watch over his team on the pitch.

I'm sort of in agreement with this... we have a huge amount of history as a club pre-2010 and plenty of heroes with no statues for any of them: but the brilliant tribute we had for them of the banner around the top of the stadium which has now been removed.

I love the idea of a Monument Park (e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monument_Park_(Yankee_Stadium)) which would honour our heroes: and Vichai's statue would be a fitting first statue and well at home in such a place.

I can think of a number of statues we could have as a club (e.g. West Ham have their statue of their World Cup winners: it is a source of price that we had a Leicester City player in England's finest hour & yet we are lacking a similar commemoration), but other than the 1996/97 statue (not based on an individual player), we don't have any statues of the heroes of our club, so it feels slightly odd for us to start with our first one for someone who owned our club for 8 out of 135 years.

I would love for the club to use this as an opportunity to create a "monument garden" and then gradually start to build it up over the years honouring some of the significant figures and moments in our Club's history: it would somehow "less odd" to have him as one of many heroes (and yet the catalyst for it) - rather than having him alone in the limelight.

Id love the "thumbs up" type statue, but I'll be surprised if the family dont ask for a more "dignified" pose.

Either way, good news :)
