Footballwipe Posted 28 December 2018 Posted 28 December 2018 This is genuinely an interesting read. I was too young for all of this but my perception was that were were a stable, financially responsible club that didn't stretch beyond its means until we went PLC and the new ground came about? I guess my perception comes from Season Reviews and a general lookback at purchases in that time. It's also predetermined by where we ended up. Was there any element of Blackburn Rovers envy with the publication of this, and this movement in general? In comes Walker, invests his personal millions, redeveloped ground, Premier League title? Also love that putting FACT and words in CAPITAL LETTERS to emphasise your point is not something exclusive to social media.

"WHERE'S THE MONEY GONE!?!?" was a commonly heard phrase shouted outside Filbert Street in the mid-nineties.

Ted Maul Posted 28 December 2018 Posted 28 December 2018 Interesting read- gives me a flavour of an era that I was too young to remember fully. This club has changed beyond recognition.

davieG Posted 28 December 2018 Posted 28 December 2018 ....and despite us about to be relegated from the PL this was one of our better periods in the life of LCFC

boots60 Posted 28 December 2018 Posted 28 December 2018 If The Fox was an alternative to the club programme then WTMG was an alternative to The Fox. The Fox, was, & still is a brilliant read. WTMG approached things slightly differently with more irony to its humour & more cutting in its criticism. In modern terms think of The Fox as Foxestalk & WTMG as Bentleys roof. I still read every issue of The Fox but would love WTMG to make a comeback.
FilbertFrog Posted 28 December 2018 Posted 28 December 2018 WTMG was brass eye stuff it pushed decency but it was a cracking read , there was a lad called Tom had something to do with it he was a funny lad
