Nick Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 So, this is not designed to slate anybody or question the future potential of any of our young players. This is about who would start in a top 4 side in the best leagues in Europe on current form / this seasons form. I’d give Kasper, Wilf and our back four a pass on this on the whole, in midfield I’d also despite recent dips in form give Youri a pass too. And Maddison. And of course Vardy. That leaves us with a glaring wide/wing inadequacy inclusive of the bench although I wouldn’t expect every squad bench member to be consistent top 4 starting quality in all teams competing for European places. We have the nucleus of a great current team but too many squad quality players who have not yet bloomed or have reached the potential they are ever going to. Boxing day drunken obvious rant over....
Chrysalis Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 I would say Vardy Ndidi Ricardo (although he was poor in liverpool game) Soyuncu Kasper Maddison, Evans, Tielemans would make subs bench.

I would disagree about Ricardo being poor... he wasn’t his usua scintillating self but he still wasn’t poor.
Chrysalis Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 In the final 3rd he did one good turn a great turn in fact, but other then that his usual excellent forward play was only average.
frany104 Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Vardy, Evans, Soyuncu, Ricardo, Ndidi. Kasper would get nowhere near, he can’t pass a ball.

Sorry I just think it downplays the fantastic season we've had so far to talk like we aren't currently a top four team in one of the best leagues in Europe.

I didn’t say we weren’t a top 4 team. I asked which of our players would walk into other top four teams. Perhaps think comparatively - on a player for player basis.
Steve Earle Posted 27 December 2019 Posted 27 December 2019 Make it ‘big six’ and I’d argue all nine of our regular starters ie excluding the wide players would get regular game time at one or more of them. Jonny Evans would get into all of them, yes, even Liverpool’s. He and Vardy looking odds on to get in the PFA team of the year at the moment.
AyewJoking Posted 27 December 2019 Posted 27 December 2019 Theres certainly nothing special about our wingers but the fact we are top 3 suggests that the rest could make it into a top 4
ithuriel Posted 27 December 2019 Posted 27 December 2019 Vardy, N'Didi, Soyuncu and Ricardo are currently the best of our normal 11 by quite a margin.
