Now I remember why they binned this track, dreadful circuit for overtaking. No idea what happened to Russell there though to bin it under safety car, looked on for his first point score which is a shame.

He is dreadful.  

He's also constantly being put on the 'experimental' strategy, but it is quite glaring to see the contrast of Kvyat and Albon, the two seats still up for grabs, and their performances today.

He's not brilliant but he's done some good races even this season, but you said it yourself because of his unique situation people like to jump on the bandwagon when he has a bad race.

Since Monza:

 

Tuscan GP - Retired - Tire Failure - in 4th at the time with just over 1 second between him and Ricciardo in 3rd

 

Russian GP - Retired - Taken out by Leclerc

 

Eifel GP - No Drive - Out with Covid

 

Portuguese GP - Retired - Yes he had a shocker overjudging the manouevre to get past Norris

 

Imola GP - 13th - Front wing damage on 1st lap, then ended up hitting the pit crew memeber due to cold brakes

 

So 1 race where he could've possibly got a podium but the car failed him, 1 race where he got taken out, 1 he missed due to illness, 1 really bad race (Portuguese) and 1 unlucky race (Imola)

 

It is never as simple as "oh he hasn't scored points in 5 races".

Definitely true, like he shouldn't be on the grid but in comparison to 90s even 2000s pay drivers hes Lewis Hamilton. 2 podiums as well isn't too shabby, shows he's at least got a bit of bottle

I thought Max conducted himself quite well in the interview and was about to rescind my strop comment. Just seen him crying behind the bins so I'll keep it on:giggle:
