For anyone (like me) who's a more confident communicator with the written word than face to face, I'd see it as an opportunity. You can get to know people pretty well by correspondence.

 

I met my wife via online dating, and we had loads of messages back and forth before we actually met, and it really helped. First actual date went on for hours.

 

Obviously if you need a shag ASAP it's not as good

Surely its the one of the only ways to find a new person for a date / life / one night, and will be for some time?

 

The days of pulling in nightclubs are quite a distance away, they'll probably be the last thing to open as socially distancing yourself is the complete opposite of what a nightclub is all about.

I wouldn't dare approach a woman in a nightclub, and the one time one approached me I assumed it was a wind up, which says a lot about my state of mind at the time

Isn't this how a lot of people meet these days?

 

I'm 40 and used to meet ladies on some dating sites back in my late teens (and then would meetup in person etc).  I also was an absolute stud and met them the old fashion way via friends or just having the testicular fortitude to approach them. Sure, you get shot down a lot but i found more often then not you get her phone number.

 

Online dating is easier as you can speak your mind without necessarily being face to face which is great for those who are shy (or anyone really). The key though i think is to not draw it out too long before a meet and greet as you could get friend zoned quick. Expectations are usually much higher when you do finally meet and you need to show up confident like a bird mating scene.

 

But, those were my experiences and times/attitudes change.   Either way, keep it safe, wear a condom and  happy shagging ladies and gents!
