With how well Nvidia has done over the last couple of years it now

makes up 20% of my portfolio, so I took a bit of a kicking yesterday.

You and plenty of others I'm sure!

I had the same issue in that Nvidia became too big as a percentage of my portfolio. Managed to take some profits over time and reduce its size, but yeah even with what I have left, still took a good kicking yesterday!

A nice 5% to open up the day lol

When you consider that this will one day be a Major (imo) then it's all irrelevant

It's up 50% since I first started musing over it

I'm still in shock that the Chinese have been able to do something cheaper than the US.

Still up for debate, their costs are only for the initial training and doesn't include any other costs. Certainly not billions but definitely not as cheap as they've made out. Does point to some flaws in the AI bubble which the markets maybe finally realising - and the whole big tech landscape could be in for a tough ride as they've gone all in on AI. And have little else to offer up that is new so they'd be fooked.

Looking to open a stocks and shares ISA with a ready made portfolio as i know naff all about the markets. Just want something to go alongside the workplace pension i pay into. Only starting small with maybe 5k then add small amounts monthly. Anyone got any recommendations on who to use? Keep hearing Vanguard 500 mentioned

Vanguard LifeStrategy funds are easy to use and reasonably priced. You choose a fund that suits the level of risk you want to take. The higher the level of risk you're willing to take on, the higher the percentage of stocks vs bonds. So the LifeStrategy 100% equity is generally considered the highest level of risk as it's 100% stocks, while the LifeStrategy 20% equity fund is the lowest risk as its' 80% bonds.

Vanguard have increased their platform fee recently so it's worth checking if other platforms offer LifeStrategy funds. I know Hargreaves Lansdown do as the LifeStrategy 100% equity fund makes up a good chunk of my portfolio.

Another option would be the roboinvestors like MoneyBox, Wealthify etc. However I've not used any of them for investing so unsure what the service is like.

I used Moneybox for a while when I first became aware of it, probably 2022. The investment options were too limited for me, just a cautious, balanced and growth option. This may have changed by now and to be honest I'd be a bit surprised if it hasn't.

Whilst I loved the fact you could use the round ups feature to top up the portfolio with pounds and pence to keep things ticking over, I ended up reverting back to my main ISA and using that for my investing.

Great for a younger audience who perhaps doesn't have much to invest and doesn't want to have to pick shares/funds themselves.

Which ISA do you use now?

I use Charles Stanley as at the time it was good on charges, not really sure how it compares to the market now as I've just kept funding it over the years without keeping tabs. I've had it since about 2017, which is before my Moneybox one, they are different offerings though in terms of investment as I mentioned.

Hell of a pullback on the US markets last 2 or 3 days. TSLA taking a real beating

Nvidia earnings are out tomorrow which is probably making the markets a bit jittery.

Thankfully their data centres hardware makes the dollars for them given the recent sh*t show with their latest GPU release.

If I held TSLA stock I’d be selling, for a clever guy I can’t understand why Musk doesn’t

realise that causing political chaos domestically and internationally is going to have

a detrimental effect on his business empire.

It's been a long time coming with Musk.

The twitter fiasco turned things to the point of toxic for him.
