Where are these mythical chippies? I don't think I've ever had Fish & Chips in Leicestershire that I would rate above a 6/10. In contrast, I don't think I've had Fish & Chips in the Leeds-Bradford area that I would rate below a 9/10.

Chris’ in Shilton is my favourite.

Over the border we have "chippers" that offer far more options than down here.

I yearn for White puddings, red puddings, mealie puddings,Macaroni pie, mince and Tattie pie, chip steaks, king ribs, mock chops.

Haddock without the skin, lemon sole, turbot.

It helps living by the North Sea.

A bit further south and you are into Pizza crunch territory.

Might be nostalgia but despite how old I get, the taste of cod and chips (with curry sauce) from Grimsby Fisheries is very hard to beat.

Fantastic chippy.

Definitely.

Plus their milkshakes were decent, too.

Wasn't sure on the Hercules 'statue', though..lol

They go wappy for a place called Murgatroyds up here. In true Yorkshire fashion it's pretty overly elaborate with a big restaurant bolted on the side and everyone will tell you it's the best chip shop in the world.

Don't have the heart to tell them there's probably five better in Charnwood alone.

Does that happen to be near Leeds Bradford Airport? Flew from there a few weeks back, and the name rings a bell.
