Upgrading my 3070ti to a 4070ti super today. Need some more fps in VR.

If anyone is in the market for a used 3070ti then give me a shout!

This looks amazing, me and a friend have been playing the Ukraine/Russia server on Arma Reforger and it's immense... wholly recommend giving it a go.

Tell me more! What's so good about it?

I really like Squad but I can't be dealing with the queues for the decent servers. I just don't have the time.

A fantastic tactical shooter, get yourself into the right team and communication is key to winning it. There's a good blend of people taking it seriously and others having fun with it. The map is vast but you always seem to have people focusing on ferrying people to the combat zones but you have to gradually build up your attacks on positions.

Servers wise, they are busy but you can always end up getting into it with a little persistence.

I've been looking on and off at a gaming PC for a good while - it's just so insanely expensive.

Everything that I would look at investing in would be £2k. Finance options are ludicrous in every instance I can find - 12% to 25% unless I'm willing to wang out hundreds a month over 6 months.

How do people make this even approaching affordable?

I built mine 10 years ago for £1k and upgrade 1 or 2 components every couple of years. I wouldn't like to shell out on a brand new PC now, GPU prices are insane. The GTX 970 was a bargain at RRP £270.

It is expensive to get into, but you don't need to go all out. Ive always done budget builds and upgraded parts as I go. You can build a perfectly decent 1440p rig for under 1k that's absolutely destroying anything a console can do. From just a glance at the OCUK forums:

1 x AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Six Core 5.10GHz (Socket AM5) Processor - Retail (SKU: CP-3DW-AM) = £194.99

1 x TeamGroup Vulcan 16GB (2X8GB) DDR5 PC5-41600C40 5200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black (FLBD516G5200HC40CDC016) (SKU: MY-0BC-TG) = £59.99

1 x Asus Prime B650-Plus (Socket AM5) DDR5 ATX Motherboard (SKU: MB-6K4-AS) = £124.99

1 x Kolink Modular Power 700W 80 Plus Bronze Modular Power Supply (SKU: CA-04K-KK) = £54.95

1 x SAPPHIRE PULSE AMD Radeon™ RX 7800 XT Gaming Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6, AMD RDNA™ 3 architecture (SKU: GRA-SPR-00764) = £474.99

1 x AMD - Avatar Radeon Bundle (SKU: DIG-AMD-01186) = £0.00

1 x WD Blue SN570 1TB SSD NVME M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 Solid State Drive (WDS100T3B0C) (SKU: HD-589-WD) = £39.95

1 x Kolink Bastion RGB Midi Tower Gaming Case - Black Window (SKU: CA-03Q-KK) = £29.99

Total: £979.85 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Is there a gaming laptop anyone would recommend. I'm absolutely clueless. I know desktops are considered better but I need a laptop anyway so might aswell combine it with a gaming one like my oldest keeps asking for.

Any links or tips would be gratefully received.
