Half time 1 nil to Brighton who really should have made the scoreline a lot more comfortable,  a couple of good saves from the keeper keeps it at 1 nil .

Some nice football from both sides at times , Alves looks a good player and the likeliest to get Leicester back into the game .

Just clicked on the link and the first action I see is dodgy tackle by our player but a complete exaggeration by the Brighton player holding his leg. Start young these days!

Have to say Pennant has been disappointing in this, Braybrooke and Alves look very good though.

Think that just summed up Pennant so far this game! Completely missed trying to control the ball from a simple pass, just rolled under his foot

Brandon Cover looks good too, last time I seen him he was at right back but seems more advanced tonight.

Yeah I thought he was a right back as well, but does seem alright further up the pitch

Braybrooke and Alves definitely our best players so far, Braybrooke really good at carrying the ball up the pitch quickly and Alves just looks like an absolute menace with his skill on the ball

Last chance of the game to put a free kick into the box... Maddison-esque floated over everyone out for a goalkick

Full Time Brighton 1-0 Leicester

Out of the Under 17s Premier League Cup in the Semi Finals

Braybrooke our MOTM, only really him and Alves that looked impressive for us

It's quite astonishing how few strikers and wingers we have at youth level. We've Kian Pennant as the only U18 striker, Will Russ, Wakeling and Regbha at U23 level. Out wide we have Terell Pennant, Ethan Fitzhugh (more of a central midfielder) and Tyreese Shade and that's it across U18 and U23 age groups. Not even sure there's many in the U16's, Chris Popov the only one I've been aware of.

Seems like Alves has been played mostly as a left winger recently, is he normally a 10?

Yeah he's an ACM but suppose he has the skill set to develop in to a Barnes type player.

Interesting that of the attacking players you mention, only the Pennant brothers were actually developed and came through our own academy from U16s level.

The rest were all acquired from other non-PL clubs......perhaps worth considering acquiring their coaches as well as they seem to have a better record of developing talent from a younger age?

That thought had crossed my mind too. I just don't get where the wingers and attackers are? Why aren't there more? I'm not even talking about whether they are good enough, we just don't even seem to be arsed about having more options.

Why should the club be?

Probably for situations like now where we've been forced to change our entire way of playing due to one injury.

Short term minor player issue.

Actually a benefit to the team as its another experience that they will have collectively.
