Yep that all lines up! Turns out there has been some work going on there too after all with the TV gantry at least

At least it’s not Hinckley. Surely Quorn is a bigger ground though? What’s the capacity at Holmes park? Plus from what I can remember isn’t Holmes park in a residential area, surely that will cause issues.

Once the free standing area gets certified they’ll be about the same, Quorn could have 10000 more seats though and it wouldn’t matter because of the artificial pitch.

As for the residential area, it’s been all good for the U23’s and local FA operations before so I imagine it’s all cleared, and for parking, aside from the limited spaces at the ground the pub up the road could be in the enterprising mood lol

Again it could still be rubbish but it’s what we’ve heard more and more lately and it appears others have too.

Quorn could have 10,000 more seats!? Surely a misprint ?

...I did suggest this months ago, but a poster on here suggested it would be a no go, as it was down to Leicester City Council!!!

Being a residential area was also a factor that was made which would have precluded any attempt to develop the facility.

May have been me and still say if there’s ever a crowd hitting four figures, they will have a nimby problem.

Around 800 will be the target at first I assume (based on their pre-covid Championship average of 350-400 + the increased interest) and then the bigger games getting moved to the KP so the NIMBY brigade might be alright lol

Speaking to someone involved with quorn fc today and they seemed to think they were going to be playing at burton. :dunno:

Would be a drastic/outta nowhere change from everything else anyone’s heard, can’t imagine it going down too well either

No, don’t know where he heard it from but he was sure. Got to say I’d be very surprised myself there’s options within the county and to take them out there would kill any local support and a future move closer to the city would be inevitable so therefore killing any support gained out burton way.

It’s being kept very tight lipped though considering the season is fast approaching.

Why?

Not 100% sure but I think it’s been dictated by Sky.

Also not certain on confirmed ground yet, but expect it to be Burton as mentioned on here previously.

Women have now pulled out of agreement to use Holmes Park.

...I thought it looked made for measure for the Women's team!!!

The fact that it is not in Central Leicester or a Loyalty to Farley Grange could be the reason.

...yeah,that makes absolutely no sense at all!!!

You need the local supporters behind you, I could understand if the were pushing to use the King Power but Burton is just ridiculous. You can imagine just popping down with the family or on the off chance on your own just to catch a game and the "walk up" would be from local supporters, what connection has Burton with our City never mind the club.

What ever reason they come up with, it has not been well thought through.

It seems promotion to the wsl has caused the issue. Apparently Quorn wasn’t suitable and it appears there’s no other ground in the city or surrounding area that is either. Burton however is far from ideal, I’m not sure what the answer is.

I’m guessing from what was said earlier camera mountings would be an issue. Also there needs to be seats terracing and facilities to accommodate spectators etc…

Hasn't Loughboro uni got a decent pitch and stands which could be made usefull?

I think so, but I’m sure someone posted in here a while back that there is already a women’s team that plays there. Unless they try and push them out but surely that would only be a temporary solution.

Uni Stadium is home to the former Loughborough Foxes, now Loughborough Lightning, under partnership with the Uni itself.

Also has the Uni’s men’s team play there and has been used by other clubs recently too (Derby U23 played there last season) as well as other teams and even sports occasionally so it’s not exactly an open schedule to fit in, great ground if we could though
