LCFC Women is delighted to confirm that nine of its first team stars have put pen-to-paper on new contracts ahead of the new 2021/22 Barclays FA Women’s Super League campaign.

- A total of nine LCFC Women players extend their contracts

The new season gets underway on the first weekend in September and preparations are now well underway with nine of last season’s star performers now committing their futures to the Football Club in the build up to its first season in the top division.

Last season’s top scorer and Supporters’ Player of the Season, Natasha Flint has agreed a new deal, alongside fellow forward Paige Bailey-Gayle, while Sophie Barker, Lachante Paul and Hannah Cain have also agreed to extend their stays with the Foxes.

In defence, Sam Tierney and Esmee De Graaf will both continue their LCFC Women careers, as well as the goalkeeping pair of Kirstie Levell and Demi Lambourne, with the countdown now on until the release of the new season’s fixtures.

The news comes after Ashleigh Plumptre and Charlie Devlin also committed their futures to the Club by signing new contracts to 2023 last month.

The 2021/22 Barclays FA Women’s Super League season will begin on the weekend of 3/4/5 September, with full fixture details to be confirmed on LCFC.com in due course.

Seem to remember reading that they won’t.

.......very much so......!!!!

......"All LCFC Women football operations will be based at the Club’s elite training facility at Belvoir Drive in the heart of the city. Graded Category One by the Premier League’s Elite Player Performance Plan, the facility became home to LCFC Women in 2021. Providing seven grass pitches, an indoor pitch, floodlit 3G pitch, performance gym and leading medical facilities, one of the best-equipped female-only football facilities in Europe will be the setting for all academy training and home matches..."

So does that mean no supporters will be allowed in?

Or come to think of it, is that highlighted bit referring to all academy teams matches as I do know they will be playing their matches there. If Farley Way wasn’t up to scratch for WSL matches would Belvior Drive, surely their has to be supporters allowed and proper accommodation and facilities for them, stands, seating, toilettes, refreshments etc.

It is indeed referring to the Academy games only. Shouldn’t be too long before plans are announced

Not that it actually matters, but it would be interesting to know what they earn at that level. I know even the youth teams are paid well these days, but that's about them potentially being massive expensive assets, that could end up getting sold for millions, or save you millions in buying a player. Obviously the ladies game isn't there yet!

Ashleigh Plumptre called up to the Nigeria squad for the first time for their training camp in Austria

Congrats to her! I've seen how much work and effort her and her dad have put into her training, so it must be an incredibly proud and exciting moment for them both.

Well done.
