What a cracking first couple of stages, brilliant from Alaphillipe yesterday but think the French media need to calm down a little in terms of him now being favourite for the tour lol

Roglic will make up for last year and fancy him to win pretty comfortably come the precession in Paris.

Bloody love this time of year, start of Le Tour and Wimbledon fortnight starting tomorrow.

Just a shame it coincides with the worst 3 weeks of Hayfever I ever suffer in a year lol

Great win for Van De Poel and great he gets the yellow Jersey.  He was one of the favourites for the win  today and the commentaters were fawning over him like they did with van aert last year.

Cav!

Amazing - my favourite cyclist and it seemed he'd never ride another Tour again, let alone win a stage. He must have felt the same so ft's not surprising he was so emotional at end; I think I was too!

Go Cav!

Deserved some luck after his last 2 or 3 years, with some of the sprinters abandoned he must be a favourite for the big Paris sprint now.

Really pleased for Cav, a lot of people were writing him off saying he's come to the end of his career, what a way to prove the doubters wrong. The best sprinter the Tour De France has ever seen.

Really please for cav aswell bought a year to my eye. I love football and the emotion it brings and cycling is the similar for me. I think it’s the sheers effort and the fact that to win you literally have empty yourself completely.  What a crazy tour it’s been so far. Mental time trial today aswell! I follow grenadiers but fair play to roglic for even getting back on.

Was really happy to see Cav win yesterday, strong sprint finish as well considering his last few years.

Time trial with Pogacar looked ridiculously smooth again.

Quite sad seeing Froome back but performing lower than where he was, understand why he's still racing but always sad to see a champion come back worse than they were

Cav needs to fill his boots this year, he'll not got a better chance to close in on the record wins.

No Caleb Ewen who abandoned, Griepel and Demare out of sorts, Kittel retired, Gaviria seemingly a one year wonder.

Paris is yours Mark.. Cmon

It's great to see Cav back in this kind of form. There's a lot of parallels to be drawn with Andy Murray, two legendary British sportsmen turning back the clock and getting back to the forefront of their respective sports. Wimbledon is most likely out of reach for Murray but the green jersey is now a realistic target for Cav, which is incredible.

It's great to see Cav back, and with the DQS train and his form you can see him winning more sprints.

The only question mark for me is whether he will get over the mountains? I'm not sure he's done much training for a GT this season, being a late call up for the Tour. Having said that I've not even looked at this years course or even how many mountain finishes there are.

It really would be amazing to see him win on the Champs-Élysées again though, especially if he's also breaking Merckx's record!

This is his year to hit the record.

From BBC:

“Dropped: Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma), Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers), Pierre Latour (Team TotalEnergies), Dan Martin (Israel Start-Up Nation), among others”

I wonder how long the first 2 will keep going for with their injuries?

Yes - they probably just need to rest and recover.

On the other hand Tadej Pogačar on the move chasing the likes of Woods, Yates, Quintana and Martin (G)

The first mountain stage and the race has been blown apart with Pogacer looking unbeatable. The race already looks like it's Pogacers with the rest battling for minor placings.
