Interesting new album from the Artic Monkeys. Very last shadow puppet-esque. No real tracks that really stand out as being belters at the moment but I rate the album as a whole.

Yep, I'm on the 3rd listen all the way through and it does get better. There's a few standouts already "....mirrorball" "Mr Schwartz" and "Body Paint" is excellent. There's still that crowd of people expecting them to go back to the first album, beer, women and fighting, but it's not going to happen, they've grown up. I think the tracks on this album when played live will be really good. I saw/read something where they said that they'd be no orchestra live so they'd have to try playing them with guitars/keyboards. Whole "Later with Jools Holland" with the band on 5th November - should be interesting.

Think the progression by AM is terrific. Listening to quite a few interviews where Alex and Matt seem to not be arsed about what people want to hear, which in my eyes is a good thing. Both the last two albums have been wholly fantastic.
