Yes it is, but English isn’t the OPs first language and I wouldn’t be surprised if this was Google translates fault. We all know what they mean.

It goes deeper than just an approximate translation. Given the Japanese mentality of adherence to the various establishment organisations in their society, uniform is probably a more apt interpretation of their thought processes in wearing 'corporate' clothing. It's part of an expected pledge of allegiance in what was a very formal and still formal hierarchical country.

That’s precisely how things get lost in translation.

I think that's irrelevant. He has been a magnificent player for us and has repaid our faith in him by working hard to come back from injury. If you want to see how much he values us, watch his reaction to Youri's goal in the FA cup final.

One thing you need to understand about English football culture is the connection we have with players and those come from moments, whether it's Steve Claridge's shinned goal, David Nugent chasing a squirrel or Vardy taking the piss out of Palace fans. Doesn't matter how old they are or whether they're going to transfer away. You'll always have that shirt that reminds you of those moments and that player, who represented your town.

This. Time moves on but it's the players that give us memories and connections, however silly or trivial, that persist in the fabric of LCFC.

It's why you still hear songs about Iwan Roberts, Steve Walsh, hell even Gary Taylor Fletcher in the stands.

On that note, get a grey 2013-14 away kit with Taylor Fletcher on the back. XXL of course. If you're a sumo fan, it was the equivalent of putting Hakuhō in a Leicester shirt. GOAT.

To be fair they sometimes call them uniforms in American English too, which may be the English he learnt.

It’s clear what he means and the OP’s English is at a very high level and perfectly understandable, certainly much better than my Japanese!

Americans and Japanese have very different, more formalised attitudes to conforming to organisational morés.

What the responder who 'corrected' his use of the word "uniform" for "kit" didn't understand was the implication in his use of that word.

For the Japanese the wearing of any identifying clothing gives an implicit idea that the wearer belongs to that group. The British are far less concerned about conforming. His use of English was entirely appropriate to his culture.

Or, yknow, it's just what they call them when you go in to a KAMO in Japan.

Sorry for the complication.
In Japan, uniform is called "seifuku," and the kind of clothing worn by athletes is called "uniform.

Which shirt did you pick….? Barnes is a a good choice I think…

I love it when we have foreign support…!  Spread the word!  We had some Japanese  fans come over especially to see Okazaki…. He was a big hero to us.

This turning into a very good thread. Fun but informative. What name did you pick in the end. Hope it’s Shinji?

Can you recommend any J League players to our recruitment Team as they have lost their way of late??  I am told Japanese Players tend to be on annual contracts so a fantastic value.

Very few Japanese have the physique to compete with foreign players. Therefore, it is difficult to find a player like Tomiyasu who can play in the Premier League, where physical contact is very intense. However, Taika Nakashima, who is called Japanese Harland in Japan, may be able to play in the Premier League.

After reading many replies, I thought that I wanted not only these two choices but also other players' uniforms, but when I saw the reply that it is best to choose the player you like best, I thought you are right and bought the uniform of Daka, which was my favorite after looking at many playbooks and highlights.
Thanks a lot for all your advice!
I wish Lester all the best!

Thanks for the welcome!
I finally decided on the Daka player uniforms. I will buy Vardy's uniform when I have enough money from all the opinions I've seen!
As a Japanese, I am very happy that a Japanese was the hero of a Premier League team.
Thank you so much.
I hope you will continue to treat me well!

Ah - Birdie = Vardy!

All Leicester City fans worship Vardy. But he will retire in maybe two seasons.

Barnes is the better choice of your preferences. He grew up in Leicestershire and is the more exciting player - in my opinion.

It is possible he may play for England one day.

Which player have you chosen?

Finally, we purchased Daka's uniform.
I saw a lot of replies and realized how great Vardy is for this team. So when I can afford it, I will buy Vardy's uniform.
I support two Japanese teams, so I have very little money to spend on one team, but when I have more money to spend, I will buy Barnes uniforms too!

Two Japanese teams?  Is that common?  Is that not confusing when they play each other…?

in England we have one team and that is it…!!!!

Good choice of English team!

I would have chosen Barnes but I like Daka.

Okazaki 20 would also have been good, even though he didn't play in that kit.

It surprises me you can't even get an Okazaki replica shirt these days (a Japanese vendor had the 15/16 and 16/17 CL home kit, but sold out).

I came across these, which are only concepts --and not LCFC -- but striking enough to share.

We love Japanese prints and have two original Hiroshiges from the same series as "the Great Wave" on the wall over our headboard.

Welcome to supporting LCFC @sususuuuu9!  I know there are plenty of roller coasters in Japan, so you should be ready for the experience.

In Japan, there are many people who support one J-League team and one foreign league team, but there are not many people like me who support two J-League teams.
When my two favorite teams play each other, I have very mixed feelings.
When a point is scored, I am happy and regretful at the same time.
However, one team was relegated last season, so I have a little inclination to root for the weaker team.
By the way, the team names are Gamba Osaka and Oita Trinita.
Gamba Osaka will play Paris Saint-Germain in July!

Thank you very much.
I considered Okazaki's number, but did not choose it because I wanted it to be the number of a player who is currently on the team.
Now I just have to support Leicester and Daka!

I would say Barnes because there is a good chance that Daka isn't the number 29 by the time next season starts whereas Barnes will be the number 7.

But the real answer is you should be getting Vardy 9 on the back of any kit.

Disrespectful to my Albrighton #11 kit

There are many Okazaki fans in Japan. Especially when he was selected for the Japan national team, the enthusiasm of the fans was amazing!
I love these limited edition kits too!
Thank you for loving Japanese culture!
It may not be famous, but I like the 53 Stages of the Tokaido by Hiroshige Utagawa because you can see many scenes of old Japan.
Thank you for welcoming me.
I'm going to watch the Premier League live with my friends on a graduation trip when I graduate from high school, so until then I'll be rooting hard for Leicester from Japan for the next year and a half or so!

Beautiful design, but is not the Great Wave off Kanagawa the work of Katsushika Hokusai?
