Rodgers opens up on Leicester City transfer struggles but 'won't go to war' with club

Just looking though the Web this morning (newsnow for example ) at all things LCFC, and for someone who said he didn't want to go to war with the club Rodgers still seems to be making a lot of noise about the lack of signings and how it will hamper our ability to challange for a European Spot.... Oh but he has said that 'he does understand the predicament the club is in',  then in the next sentence he goes back to whining  that he wants use challanging at the top,  'but thats going to take investment'.

Does the man have no shame,  give it a rest for god sake and concentrate on doing your job you are paid handsomely for. You have planted the seed enough already for your excuse for when (hopefully) you are sacked,  that you did your best,  but wasn't backed after hilighting a refresh was needed blah, blah, blah

Please Top.. Get him gone ASAP

As I said the other day we're (the club) writing this coming season off before it's even begun.

Never felt such disconnect, disinterest and lack of passion for it all and how we play, something I just can't get behind, I hate it whilst not caring at the same time (the fact I don't care is what I hate).

Well this makes for compelling reading now.

The writing was on the wall, not even I predicted it to be this bad but I can't believe people didn't see the warning signs, the red flags and gave me shit throughout for holding such an opinions.

Who was it that pulled the plug on the planned recruitment? Was it really a shock that we weren’t going to meet UEFA’s FFP? Amateur hour.

To be fair, I didn't see this debacle coming although the warning signs were there from day one.  But it is what it is now.

Next Season we need a Coach who's up to the job and wants it more importantly.

Brendan was right in one thing that the squad had become arrogant and therefore we should have backed him in the summer to bring in new faces and let some of our "so called" superstars go to balance the books.

Alternatively we should have sacked Brendan and had someone replace him. The club did neither and stood still with the result for everyone to see.

Those who were responsible for player sales thought they could move on three or four of the ‘middle performers’ to free up squad space

the owners were not prepared to have 75k/week players fit but outside the 25 man squad

hence it became a sh1tshow

Not sure what you’ve been reading on here. You are definitely not the lone poster worried about the club from the off this season that you seem to suggest. A large proportion of the fan base on here (and not on here) have questioned the club, the manager and the players over the past 2 years never mind just this season.

What a joke that we have squad players or those outside the 25 on that much money.

For clubs trying to consistently compete for europe, it’s tough not to.  Our issue is not moving players on who earn 75/90k when there was a market for them and bringing in younger replacements at 40/60k.  That’s down to decision makers and recruitment.  We didn’t have the bottle to accept that we are a selling club and limited ourselves to one big sale per summer. that wasn’t enough because you only remove one big salary and replace it with several on contract renewals.

it will be interesting to how many Brentford and Fulham sell over next two summers.
