It took Jim White 2 minutes and 15 seconds (90 Seconds of which he is talking for) to

ask his question to Simon Jordan.

It can’t just be me who thinks that is absolutely terrible broadcasting?

It's Jim White, of course it will be terrible broadcasting.

A true narcissist.

UEFA announced changes to FFP in April/May.....

Which has clearly changed our plans and comments in February aren't as relevant as they were.

I also think Tielemans still being here has held things up and the club can't be blamed for that. He goes and we can then sort out the midfield that we also want to move on but getting rid before leaves us exposed.

The media aren't helping with their reporting of the situation. We aren't inactive. just restricted right now.

I suggest no one puts Talksport on at the minute. Danny Mills what a ****.

He's just literally said Maddison should go becsause it's a step up. We've apparently lost players left right and centre already. All these players want to leave us. We have to sell them. We should let them go. There's no chance of a rebuild because it's too late in the window.

What a ****.

I bet nobody questions what he says either.

We should sell players but not replace them?

How do these people get paid for a living?

I've never wanted to actually ring a radio show (apart from the couple of occasions I've pranked Ian Stringer) but my this was a tough one.

The most self-serving manager the game has ever seen for my money. Threw the player's under the bus at the end of last season & is now throwing the board under the bus at the beginning of this.

The players not being more than the sum of their parts is on the management & on paper we have had a top 6 team the last few seasons even though he is adamant that we haven't.

The board are now in an unwinnable position as Brendan has basically called the vultures in by saying we are desperate for cash massively weakening the club's negotiating position and unsettling all of our assets.

More likely they just don't trust him enough to give him a bean and don't want to pay the exorbitant sacking fee he appears to be clamouring for.

I can't believe more people didn't see this coming.

I'm taking from this thread that that means investment in training & youth facilities is now considered in financial fair play figures?

As if there wasn't already enough disincentive to invest in the structure of clubs outside of the playing squad.

Basically an open invitation to all the Mike Ashley's of the world as now they will have an excuse for their players having ice baths in paddling pools & wofeul youth facilities 🤦

Did he gloss over the fact the window is open for another 30 days?

It's not. Our wage bill is too high and we need to move players on before we buy.

Is their an abridged version of the changes then? Can't see how else we could fall foul of them when no one else has?

Somehow it's only affecting us even though we get 100M+ extra per year and haven't signed anyone significant in the last year. Doesn't add up.

The media want nothing more than the big six to sign the best players from the other 14 and bemoan that the top 6 are not challenged and the league is uncompetitive .

They barely do the latter do they? All the top 4 places for the last 17 years (bar our title win) have been taken by the Big 6. I've never seen that problematised in the media at all.

Well I rephrase, they almost mock the other 14 can’t compete with the darling big 6

Its UEFA FFP that has changed, not Prem, so IF we got Europe again they could nail us if we don't start sorting it right now as it kicks in from the next season we could possibly be in Europe - 2023/24

From 2023/24 clubs are allowed to spend 90% of revenue on wages, transfers and agents' fees

Then down to 80% in 2024/25

Then down to 70% in 2025/26

The sanctions are progressive as well, so it isn't just a case of fall afoul pay a fine and that is it, the longer it goes on the more severe the sanctions get

Danny mills is one of those ex pros, along with Michael Owen, who if you met in the pub and didn’t recognise them you’d come away thinking that bloke hasn’t watched a game of footy in his life. lol

Which everyone does. We had Norwich away as a newly promoted team at their most aggressive. It’s swings and roundabouts on that score

Don't think they ever broke into aggression. We played crap.

We spent 60m last summer, with little outgoing, we have lost money (130m) over the last 3 seasons.

European football without fans in 20/21 was worth 14m to us, so not have European football cuts our budgets by 15m-20m

The big 6 have enough revenue to ride it out, the 3 coming up have a lower starting position on the wagers front so can splash the cash.

Of those left.

Palace 20m, but had a clear out of big earners last summer.

Villa has spent 40m, but had a massive sale of 100m last season.

Everton have spent 20m and brought in 60m -minus 40m net spend

Brighton have spent 9m and brought in 35m - minus 24m net spend

Leeds have spent 95m but brought in 100m - minus 5m net spend

Newcastle have spent 65m which is conservative when you have owners worth 330Bn and have a lower starting point on wages.

Southampton have spent 45m but had a - net spend from last year in the bank of 12m

West Ham have spent 50m but have another season of European football boosting the coffers

Wolves have spent 30m but have brought in 10m so a net spend of 20m

Brentford have spent 30m.

So other then a few hardly a mad summer.

For all the grief Rodgers gets on here, I was listening to Sky Transfer Centre earlier where it was being pointed out (if true) that Leicester have only spent 25 million net, under Rodgers.

They were emphasising just how well he’d done, given this.

Is this right? I thought it sounded completely wrong but I’m sure some smart ass on here will come up with the figures.
