Nice are a decent team, in a good city, that finish near the top of a decent league. They’ll play him and he’ll have at least some European football, albeit not Champions League. It’s not a massive step up but I’d say it’s a step up, and maybe he just wants to play for another club before he retires.

Playing Europa Conference League Cup (which he already played with us last season) might be considered a minor step up when compared to not playing at all, but that is more than wiped off by the massive step down from the EPL to Ligue1.

I refer to my picture on the previous page.  There is more to life than money and football.  Perhaps he is looking ahead to a management career and realizes the next few years are his chance to get some sun!

They have European football

Living in Provence has a certain Je ne sais quoi.

I'd be off like a shot. He can probably commute from tax-free Monaco.

The French tax authorities would have a few choice things to say about that.

He can live anywhere in the world in a couple of years. It isn't Kasper's style to downgrade his career for that. Besides do you think he'd have stayed at Leicester for 10 years if he wanted sun, sea and magnum double caramels.

He can live anywhere in the world now. He's a multimillionaire. His career at this level is over and he knows it. He's doing the right thing by bowing out with his reputation and iconic standing at the club at the right time. Thanks Kasper you have been magnificent.

I'm actually saying why I think he should stay. Peter couldn't wait for him to leave us.

but the problem peter had was none of the bigger clubs deemed him good enough
