Are we able to send these panic buy's back for a refund/exchange on 1st January. Or we going to be stuck with them in an even bigger mess than we are now.

I think any of our targets will come in on much less wages than players we potentially sell + we have plenty of players leaving on frees in the summer to subsidise the current mess.

Well as we are only going to buy 1 player  for around 12-15 million I'm not sure it is relevant really.

But all still a huge gamble.

I'm not sure we have scouted these just taking them on a flyer.

So we saving it in hope for the new manager and head of recruitment in January.

With fingers X we can get out of the mess.

They'll have a list of targets for each position they've been working on for months. Don't panic

Correct but they won't be in our top ten though will they.

Heads need to roll for this mess we are in.

No I don't think we have the money. No idea what is going on but just over a year ago we'd not long won the FA cup and won the Charity Shield and then somehow finished 8th despite an horrendous injury list.  Brendan clearly believed a rebuild of the squad was possible in early summer yet here we are in what looks like a downward spiral towards the Championship.

Looks like we are going to start the season with

A poorer keeper then last season

A poorer defence than last season

Poorer options out wide than last season

Still carrying at least two or 3 players we'd hoped would leave

And apparently not able to reinvest even half the fee we've got for Fofana.

Something is very wrong at the moment and it goes deeper than just on the pitch.

We've a few hours to try and change things but it really doesn't look likely anything really positive is going to happen.

People keep saying stuff like this, but it always seems that we have no idea at all who we should even be looking at, let alone buy. Right wing has been a disaster since Mahrez departed, how many windows?  Disasters and nothing.

Someone needs to get a grip of our scouting and analytical department. I might suggest they start playing Football Manager. Reasonably accurate data base and they might realise that a balanced side is a better side.

(Incidentally I know we have access to the professional database upon which FM is based).

Any loans we can send back. That's why part of me would be happy with 2/3 loan signings rather than shelling out on players that could be another Bertrand or vestergaard. At least with Faes he's apparently only going to be on £20k a week wages so if he is crap, he won't be as hard to shift as Bertrand and Vestergaard

We all do if we buy the game...

Not quite actually, but there you go. It’s why professional clubs pay thousands for it.

Surely the players that have good stats are because of what the professional database has shown, so just buy the game. That's where we been going wrong. Nip into HMV Brendan.

Yeah I think loans is the way to go, or low wages on starting contract (30-40k absolute max).

You had any trouble getting in the ground this season?

Getting too the ground yes. I’m based in mid Wales on my large and glorious farm. The servants get unruly if I am away too long.
