Yeah it is good, yep done that one to death as well. Not entirely sure what happened to me in there last year but a combo of strong beer and no food meant I had no recollection of getting to the match.

Pure Bar, The Colmore, Cherry Reds - all walkable from New Street.
 

Very underrated gaff but need a bus or taxi is Barton Arms and then you walk from Villa Park to there

Been in Pure Bar before on your recommendation actually. The old man will like the Thornbridge one.

The Colmore is great. Really good beers and it's kind of done out like a modern, but traditional pub. Hard to explain. 

 

You've also got Sommar round the corner which is a local craft beer brewery/taproom. The Head of Steam is good for anyone wanting to watch the early kick off and loads of beer options (got about 30 taps).

Thanks mate. Sommar in Leicester has a good selection of beer and head of steam here used to be decent.
