Currently in the recovery stages of norovirus, and that was no joke. Partner had it a couple of days ago and I started getting it yesterday evening

Thankfully it’s over very quickly, but it’s 8 hours of feeling like you’ve been possessed by a demon. Would not wish that on my worst enemy.

For us, it was about 8 hours of brutal, constantly coming out of both ends simultaneously and at a force that is incredibly violent and doesn’t feel human, my partner lost consciousness a couple of times during it - and we were still dry heaving like crazy for hours even when everything had left the system, then we just need to sleep for about 20 hours and everything in your body aches, you barely have the energy to lift your arm, but we were slowly introducing liquids and simple foods and seeing if we can keep them down. But it’s basically over within 36 hours.

Thankfully we didn’t have it at the same time so could look after each other. Would hate to have that while living alone.

I had Norovirus a couple of years ago.

I can honestly say l have never felt so ill. Completely wiped out for a couple of days. Not nice at all.

Hmm, this and subsequent posts makes me think about mine again, funnily enough in a similar position on the back left of my neck.

I went once probably 4 years ago now and had it checked, they said it was a cyst and it would just stay there forever unless it caused me any issues as the area that would require the operation is sensitive. So if I can leave it, basically do so.

Prompted me to go again nonetheless so thanks and I hope yours does not cause you any trouble.

I've been again and a different GP doesn't think its a cyst, she wants to rule out Lymphoma as it could be that.

Positives are that it is a single lump, no size increase over time, the "only" symptoms I have of that is occasional night sweats but to me that doesn't concern me either as day to day I'm always hot, very rarely do I get cold. The other positive I am taking is that she wants to send me for an ultrasound to identify it properly, but I was told that the lump is too small to meet the criteria for an ultrasound so it is likely to be rejected.

I see that as a positive that if there were multiple lumps or a larger sized individual lump, I would've got the ultrasound with no questions.

I'm glad I went, who knows what to come, appreciate Izzy posting because that is definitely what prompted me. Let's see!

Fingers crossed for you mate.

I saw the dermatologist about mine last week who asked me if there was history of skin cancer in the family. They took photo's of the lump and decided it needs cuting out so I've been put on the list with the Plastic Surgery Dept.

It could be a few months and they said if it gets any bigger or starts to itch to ring them and they'll book be in as an emergency.

I'm sure it's nothing but I'll be happy when it's removed.

Ring them and tell them it's itchy even if it's not.

One way to get ahead of the waiting list,

Had the legion on my neck removed this morning.

”As skin cancer goes, this is one of the better ones” the surgeon assured me.

Got to take antibiotics for a week and stay out of the sun for the rest of my life and highly likely I’ll get more legions apparently.

Going to the dentist for the first time in 5 years on Thursday.

Due to my depression and copious amounts of fizzy pop and not looking after myself in general for a large number of years previously I'm dreading it.

2 broken crowns, broken teeth, and dreading the cost as things are tight at the minute.

Had mixed experiences from dentists and going to Bowling Green Street any one been / go here are they ok?

It may not be as bad as you think.  There is a maximum price on the NHS per treatment (per amount of work that needs doing) & that price is about £380.  Crowns, fillings, etc will be covered on NHS.  Bridges, implants, etc will not be be & will be charged at private costs......then you should start panicking.

Considering the amount of work you likely need, I don't think that's too bad.

And I say that as someone whose teeth are not the greatest.  I'm looking at implants & even with a trip to Turkey, we're talking thousands.

Before you go get dental insurance you'll be amazed at what you can claim. Try Bupa

Remember i said there was a bloke at work who had all his teeth out and replaced with implants, NHS..........

Turns out it was £800 and not £300 but still bloody amazing!

I had 1, 2 months back and the actual colonoscopy was fine. Didnt bother with any pain relief just got on with it. Uncomfortable maybe a little at times but certainly nothing drastic.

The one thing i will say though is the prep for it is 10x worse. The drinks you need to take to clear you out are disgusting and then you will be spending so long and using so much toilet roll over the course of the next hour or so. That certainly was not a fun experience.

Good luck for Monday

I just giggled like a school boy at the flatulence it’s generated. Better than any pain relief.

 Good luck!
