Blew hot and cold at Pompey and a complete flop at Coventry. Impressive at Ipswich but would struggle in the Premier League - (if we come straight back up)

Complete flop at Cov is a bit over the top, also you've criticised the two earliest spells of his career. I don't think he's Premier League standard by the way, just think you've been fairly harsh

I'm basing it simply upon what I saw and through regularly watching Pompey play during the same period. That he failed to impress at Coventry is demonstrable, faring better at Barnsley. He has continued to improve his game has been an undisputed revelation at Ipswich. It's unlikely though that he would immediately adapt to the Premier League in the manner of Ivan Toney.

Failed to impress yet got a move to a higher division?

Yeah, he failed to impress at Coventry a move that promised much but never really worked out. Nonetheless, a player with obvious potential, hence the Barnsley signing. Since then, he has come into his own. Fair play to him.

Not sure i can treat this as gospel, i work with someone who has has family members who’re part of the Swansea first team squad and he reckons Russell Martin is all but confirmed to be our manager next year.. both sound very far fetched 😂

We have ageing bench players on £70k+ here that we can finally see the back of.

Signing somebody like this, who'll fight for his place and who isn't going to break the bank, is more like it. Our wage bill is out of control so you'll see a few squad players come in like this, I think.

God I hope not. That would confirm beyond doubt we are obsessed with possession for possessions sake.
