we woud still be in the prem league if

a: we got rid of Rodgers after the world cup/christmas.

b:  we made some actually made a couple of good signings in January

c: The players actually showed some fight and passion for the badge

I actually are starting to think maybe it wasn't Rodgers faut and it is actually the players fault.  Seemed to have down tools cos they want a move and couldnt care less if they take us down with it.

Top better make up for it all in the championship otherwise he can do one too.  I want us to win the Championship and dont expect anything else

But yeah its so sad (and a joke) that we did all we did in 9 years and that we are going down with a whimper, no wonder everyone is laughing at us really

So let's smash shit up and abuse everyone involved.

How does it help?

It's not like our owners are a bunch of asset stripping gold diggers. I don't believe anyone has acted in bad faith, clearly many wrong decisions were made.

The same people you're saying to be angry with brought us some incredible moments. I'm not saying be happy, be sad, be upset, I just don't see the need for fury and anger.

It’s quite simple. In the past month, have you:

1) Become so angry about our situation you’ve crashed and written off your car?

2) Kicked a neighbour’s pet rabbit or guinea pig?

3) Sneaked out of the house at midnight in a storm, ran into in a field, rent your clothes and screamed at the sky, “Why God? WHY????????”?

If your answer to any of these is ‘no’, then I’m afraid you‘re just not getting it.

I’m still trying to stay positive but as soon as I see that team give up (most weeks) I can’t be bothered with them.

Reality is we don’t support a team backed by a state or have a global fan base to keep the pounds rolling in. We are where we are and even though it doesn’t seem possible now, a couple of bad transfer windows and the same can happen to Brentford, Brighton, Fulham, Palace etc.

I just hope Top has a shake up in the boardroom or at very least, learns his lesson for future.
Plus with us going down and loads of contracts ending, we won’t have to watch this lot for much longer.

A new cycle is hopefully beginning soon where we can have another go at it - and you never know, win something again - it’s just crap right now, think it’ll get worse before it gets better

Accept mediocrity - eat shit in my personal opinion.

Obviously it has been an incredible decade that will live forever in the memory, but the self destruction has been equally as incredible and unlikely.

If, theoretically, I had been promised a Premier League and an FA Cup, but that we would be back in the Championship not long after, I would have accepted that too. That was not the choice we were offered though and is just copium to alleviate the stress of woeful mismanagement.

As human beings losses always hurt more than our wins feel good.

I kinda understand all the anger and bitterness at players staff and management... but I feel like I'm not owed anything. I feel like I've completed football as a Leicester fan. I've seen us win both  domestic Cups, 3 league titles and compete in Europa League and the Champions League - hell we've even won a super-cup (Charity shield)...

Kinda happy with my lot.

And that’s the mentality that eventually sees you relegated and back to footballing oblivion.

Happy with our lot, let’s spend the next 30 years reminiscing about the good times while we sit around near the bottom of the championship. Sounds like great fun

No one is talking about ripping up seats at the King Power stadium and taking a dump in the directors box. I haven’t seen any real abuse on here either - just passionate debate.

it’s about channeling that frustration into a message that can send a signal that we want to go back to what we were - a well run club. Not a mismanaged mess that’s fallen off a cliff quicker than Leeds did.

We don’t want to go back to being little old Leicester - we have been a brilliantly run club that moved away from that model with disastrous results. We want to be that club again

No, it's not a mentality – you've twisted what I've written to channel your own agenda.

I've not said I'm happy about our situation, I even wrote that I kinda understand the anger and bitterness - just that personally as I don't feel I'm owed anything can put things into a bit of perspective.

We may yet stay up and we'll be back at some point if we don't – but I'm gonna try and be an adult about it all despite my disappointment!

An adult about it? Is that what you think the difference is? You think fans upset and frustrated about the appalling mismanagement of the club that has seen it unnecessarily fall off a cliff are entitled kids? That we think we’re owed something, but you’ve got the maturity to get it all into perspective?

These are our finishes since promotion in 2014.

2014/15 - 14th

2015/16 - 1st

2016/17 - 12th

2017/18 - 9th

2018/19 - 9th

2019/20 - 5th

2020/21 - 5th / FA cup win

2021/22 - 8th / European semi Final

thats an average of 7.8 (8th) place since we were promoted. Those 9th place finishes were seen as disappointing if I remember and the 8th place finish, we had half the team out for the majority of the season. We haven’t finished in the bottom half the division since 2017.

how the hell are we about to get relegated? Teams spend years in the bottom half of the division and don’t get relegated for at least a few years. What the hell is going on? No wonder these players have deluded themselves into thinking they can’t get relegated.

Cos Rodgers was unable to replace our  ‘above average’ players with anything less than ‘below average’ players. Our best players are letting their contracts run out so not really as bothered. And nobody in the club realized the importance of having such a strong off the field character in Kasper. Last season’s 8th pace flattered to deceive let’s be honest

Yeah, I suppose that's what Blackburn have been doing for most of the past near three decades now since they won the Prem.! While I fully appreciate where the poster's coming from, we should never have gone from winning the league to nearly being relegated the season after in 2017 and then from winning the FA Cup two years ago, finishing 8th last season to being relegated with a whimper this, if the next game or two rubber stamps that of course. It has just been allowed to happen and the board have acted way too late with not only the Rodgers' sacking but with the instalation of the current regime who have faced a thankless task in trying to keep us up so far, despite a bright start.

It's a double-edged sword, we all fully appreciate the magical time we have had since promotion back to the premier league 2014/15, but it's that magic that makes the anger in us all so raw and strong, because this situation we are in was so avoidable, and a huge chunk of fans saw it and called it out for years. We could have been magic and produced something sustainable, but it seemed like from the moment we won the league we started to implode, signing expensive players then refusing to play them or play against their strengths for example Slimani, or signing one of the most exciting young players in Europe in Kapustka only to absolutely ruin him, Playing Kramaric completely against his strengths, selling him and watching him bang goals in for fun in Germany whilst we tumbled down the league 2016/17, selling strong leaders and replacing them with players with weak mentalities that didn't seemingly buy into the club and the badge.
I thought we had stopped the rot when we signed Puel and he started to instill some stability and signed young hungry players with a point to prove, we rightly replaced him as it wasn't working on the pitch and signed Rodgers who at the time most of us thought was a step in the right direction, and so it seemed it was, until the wage spending started to sky rocket, hundreds of millions were spent on crap, analysts in the scouting department were literally walking out of the job because they were being ignored, physio's being sacked leading to injury crisis after injury crisis and yet it was completely ignored because the results were coming in, completely unsustainable and so many of us spotted it.

We've had so many good times and a lot of football fans think we are being irrational and ungrateful, we aren't, we just saw this coming and nobody listened.

This makes no sense on almost every level. it’s almost like you’ve learned next to nothing from the past 9 years.

what you should have taken away is that smaller clubs CAN compete with the bigger ones AS LONG as they remain well run. Now I’m not saying we could have been an established top 6 side with our finances - but equally, the incredible recruitment team allowing us to buy gems for next to nothing and sell them for huge money has seen us go from championship to champions league - picking up trophies in the process

it actually happened and Brighton aren’t a million miles away from Top 4 this season either. I think you’re confusing our demise, which is the result of abandoning the model that made us successful, for inevitability.

Brighton have lost players and managers to bigger clubs. Yet their decision making is so good they are improving. Your aim should be to the best of the rest in the PL and go for European football. We’ve done it, other teams can do it. Relegation happens not because it’s inevitable - but because clubs spend the money they have badly. That’s the difference. Look at Chelsea this season - by your logic no smaller team should be able to touch them - they’re currently 10th

The fact is we are being relegated with the 8th highest wage bill in the PL. it’s not because we can’t compete financially, it’s because we haven’t operated smartly

Chelsea will chuck another £300m at anything until they get it right, like I said Chelsea's trough is most teams' peak. Us, Brighton, Brentford etc. have to get it SPOT ON every summer, we make the same mistakes that they make, speaking relatively, and we're down. Like this season.

You're right about Brighton making the right decisions, but the top clubs work their way up these clubs, from players, to management, to backroom. Eventually poaching the people that make those decisions.

I agree on why we are being relegated, but I disagree that I consider it inevitable, it's just been proven that it's near impossible to maintain a working model that'll sit top half Prem.

I'm quite happy to agree to disagree and respect people will have a different view to me. I'm intrigued to see where Brighton are in 5 years time, there always seems to be 1 flavour of the year top 6 disrupter.

Blackburn protested pretty heavily against the Venkys when they first went down in 2012

Remember the chicken on the pitch

Much less passive then we’ve been

To the Venky's credit then at least they haven't sank any lower and very nearly made the play offs this season. They also made us look dog shit in the FA Cup at home of course!
