There are some malign and disruptive influencers in that dressing room. I wouldn’t be surprised if Winks and Vestergaard are at the top of the list. Get them gone, drain the swamp.

Agreed 100%, I am no fan of Ruud or Cooper but Winks behaviour this season has not been great, the I miss you Enzo sign and then the refusal to stay one night a week at the training ground, whilst not a contractual obligation, speaks volumes of the lack of professionalism. For me he has to be moved on, if both Winks and Vesty are in the squad/starting XI at the start of the season then it really does send out the message that the players are ruling the roost and that cannot happen.

Russell Martin will probably love both of them, so don't be surprised at all if they both start for us in the first game of the new season.

Back to people worshipping a complete deserter like Winks next season then.

Winks was fantastic in the championship season - sure there were reports of interest from big teams.

Great if you can move them on but I can't see someone paying 90k a week for him on the back of last season, let alone paying a fee- Vestegaard even more so.

I'd rather someone come in and utilise and make the most of what we have.

He was bombed out of the squad by RVN and basically suspended indefinitely wasn’t he?

How is that a deserter? He offers far more than Bouba.

Sometimes things happen but for the greater good, you have to kiss and make up. Reading between the lines, I’d likely say that the truth lies somewhere in between.

Possibly

He's just another entitled pro footballer who is happy to take millions in payment but not occasionally put themselves out.

He epitomises the modern footballer imo.

tbh, whilst I get that, it’s  irrelevant to my pov

we HAVE to learn lessons and not selling a player with a year left is one of those.  If we didn’t have skipp then I could accept the argument that losing winks on a free is worth it because he massively raises the chances of promotion next season.
But skipp can take that role ( hopefully braybrooke and an other can help out in that area too)

He wont be earning that next season here.  55/60k which is too high anyway given our situation

we would get at least £4m from a prem club and they’d only have to pick up the 55/60k cos that’s all we’d be paying him

if brussell really likes him then I wouldn’t be astonished to see him sign a contract extension of some kind.

Maybe so, however he was okay under Maresca.

In fact, it could be something as simple as he expects higher standards, so called out Cooper and RVN?

Ok, it's clear you know more than the rest about what happened. Care to share? Because as far as I see it, NO ONE really knows what happened with RVN and Winks. Sure, Winks may have been at fault but I think it's worth baring in mind that, Ruud may have been the problem and given his previous of falling out with Okoli about his boots then essentially cutting him out and the reports of a group of players at PSV unhappy with him and even going above his head to the directors, THAT doesn't seem too far of a stretch.

So what is it? You clearly have info that puts the blame on Winks, fancy telling the rest of us?

It's been widely publicised what the issue was. People have different opinions on whether staying for 1 night is reasonable when you are earning millions a year, mine is that pro footballers these days are too powerful and it's not much of a sacrifice.

Ruud can **** off as well tbh.

If your manager asks you to stay at the club for a few days when you are on millions of pounds a year you should be doing it. Ideally you shouldn’t live 2 hrs away from work but if you do you should be prepared to give a bit. Plenty of young dads have to work away from young families on a lot less wage, at least he can give his wife and kid everything they could need unlike some of us fans. It’s a sense of detached entitlement which shows poor character imo.

Spot on.

Makes me laugh how much the average man is willing to defend a multi millionaire ball kicker tbh.

Each to their own.

If I earnt (I say earnt but it isnt) what Mr winks did I would crawl over broken glass .. footballers too pampered and have too much power

Same, if you could be in a position to give your wife and kids everything you’d do whatever it takes not cry about a few nights in an all expenses paid luxury golf resort. And Vestaguard with his chuffing dog, most normal people pay a lot of money for doggy daycare if they deem it necessary what makes these entitled bell ends better? I’m sick of them. I’d give a bit more leeway if they left it out there on the pitch but they don’t do that either.

We know roughly what happened because we were told but A, we don't know how accurate it is, B, we don't know how he was asked, was he quietly pulled aside? Was he blasted in front of everyone? C, was he even asked? Was it demanded? Did something happen before hand?

Like I said, we have no idea what actually happened and Ruud has shown (reportedly) that man management isn't always his strongest card.

Totally this. We don’t know what happened to result in both Winks and Vestergaard being dropped but it’s clear it has something to do with Winks refusing to stay at Seagrave 1 night a week and Vestergaard taking the pee with taking dog to the training ground. I imagine words were exchanged neither parties backed down and RVN used the only tool left at his disposal which was to drop them. No party comes out of this mess well. RVN shows he has limited leadership and people management skills and two highly paid footballers treating the club like a country club. Get them gone!

With all due respect, what the **** do you know about their personalities or what they're like in the dressing room?

Other than we know he seems to have fallen out of favour with, pound for pound, probably the worst manager in our history (?) I'm not sure why everyone's got this hate boner for Winks all of a sudden.

He was one of our top 3 or 4 best players last year and has barely been given a chance this year.

The **** has he actually done wrong to some of you? If he's still at the club come the first game of the season it'll be a big win for us, especially if we're getting that dickhead Martin.

He started off in the team under Cooper and was pretty poor. Got dropped.

Id say his attitude appears questionable, you don’t hold up a sign about your previous manager because you were dropped, you knuckle down work harder and win over the next one. Holding little cry sign is weak.

Then regardless of how shite you think a manager is, I have worked for many shite ***** who know less than me, you pay them a bit of respect for them to face and do as they ask unless it’s absolutely unreasonable, which 1 or 2 nights at an all inclusive resort in place of a 2 hour daily drive isn’t unreasonable for a bloke paid hundreds of thousands a week by the football club. He started of well here but he’s definitely faded.

Unless there was an ongoing issue with punctuality to training, I can't see the argument for him staying over for one night a week.  However, if there was a specific reason why he should stay at Seagrave one night a week, and other players were made to do the same, then yes, he's out of order. I would add, I don't know the specific reasons for RVN wanting him to stay over, but unless it's justified, it seems a strange decision to enforce.
