Slowly coming to the opinion that it might be for the best. The club is drifting, just sleepwalking through seasons. The finances getting out of hand, the lack of fan engagement, the delays in redeveloping the East Stand, the people in place in middle management being out of their depth or inexperienced at this level, the absolutely stale atmosphere round the place...all points to one thing. Change is needed.

But honestly, the last people that are going to ask for it are the people in love with King Power FC. Top - or the KP paymasters - will need to make the call himself.

He doesn’t need to be at the ground. He just needs to be asking the right questions. Two years ago we tore Forest apart - and we were shit at the time!

No one can watch that game yesterday and see the gulf in class and say my business is in safe hands.

I don't mind him being an absentee owner necessarily. There are plenty of examples of owners getting too involved and not having a clue.

What I do mind is the inertia. We made a poor appointment in Cooper because of the circumstances that existed at the time, but those circumstances no longer apply. We haven't been cut adrift, we have money to spend and we aren't getting a points deduction.

We have a decent squad that, for 45 minutes last night, more than matched a side who have beaten Liverpool away this season and have the second best defensive record in the league so far. In fact, I would argue that Forest show we're not far away. With investment in the back line and better tactics, we could easily have got a result. My fear at the moment though is that giving Cooper a war chest in January wouldn't fix the problem as the tactical shortcomings and game management would still be suboptimal.

We need to get in a new boss while good managers are still available and give that manager money to enable us to compete. With proactive club management, we are not far away from a side that wouldn't even have to think about relegation. I just don't see that impetus with a DoF who hasn't moved with the game or Whelan, nor do I see the urgency from Top to appoint replacements to run the club smoothly while he isn't here.

I knew of the Potter stance of him wanting to bring his own staff in, his own DOF being one of them apparently but I kinda had a feeling he had one eye on the England job too.

That's now been resolved and it obviously isn't him. He's still without a club, we are not languishing at the bottom of the table and have no points deduction to consider. Some great individual players and a pretty decent recent history along with training facilities to die for.

Top really needs to consider what's best for this club, after all he says it means to him and his family, he should just do what is right and (to combine 2 threads here) sell up or/and go all out to get Potter (or even a similar calibre manager or better) because as sure as hell this club has declined beyond measure, and continues to do so since he was at the helm.

I honestly think Potter isn't that good. Not for the wages he'd  command.

I want to agree but I just can't see this club ever being to him what it was to his dad who was responsible for our hugely successful years. If that's what it took to get us to those dizzy heights and he doesn't run it as LCFC needs to be run then pass it on to others that can and the likes of Rudkin/Whelan will go with him.

As much as I despise them (Rudkin/Whelan) I'm certain Top signs off every big decision on the clubs journey so I lay much of the blame with him for not righting wrongs, stopping the decline and continuing to steer us in the direction his dad laid the pathway towards.

We had everything going for us but constant sh!t decisions and a refusal to listen to those who fill the LCFC coffers week in/week out as he blindly let(s) the rot set in has us where we are today on and off the pitch........mainly off!

No!

Much prefer owners we know.

We all know other clubs that have changed owners and been shat on.

Better the ones we know in my opinion.

And we know clubs who have improved tremendously under new owners, too.

Realistically, what is our upside with King Power/Top and no Vichai?

I agree but I’d take a sock puppet right now over Cooper.

Forests owners a complete and utter disgrace but at least he is driven by an ambition to keep growing them.

Do we see a vision from Top? I think a few years ago when the stadium expansion was seemingly in full flow there seemed to at least be that start of a new era vibe.

Absolutely everything since has stalled or got worse and we have let a team like Forest catch up. They were absolutely in danger of being in our shadow for a decade and they caught up just like that. They won't do what we did or even close, which is some consolation. But for now we have to deal with staying up and then Top needs to ask himself what he really wants because otherwise we are going to go to shit.

He's got to be better than this twonk and it looks as though Rudkin would finally be on his way at the same time - Huge Win / Huge Win surely

Note it'd be interesting to know if Potter has a DoF he advocates or if he knows John Boy is fuching useless.

Wasn’t it the rumour at the time Potter was all but sealed but because he wanted a new DOF to work with, Rudkin put a stop to that!

Bring in Potter, Rudkin’s days are numbered that’s why he hired Steve Cooper.

I’ve said repeatedly it won’t be a decision just on top’s behalf but rather the whole King Power Group with most likely some input from Thailand government itself

For me, it depends what situation Potter inherits. If we're right in the arse of a relegation battle, his methods will take too much time to embed. If we have anything resembling a cushion, it might work.
