For all the youngsters out there - see what the evil drink can do to you !!! P.S. Lisa, wouldn't it be fantastic if he did rise from the treatment table and became the new messiah. And it would be nice to see Morris do well, as it won't cost the club any more money. Plus, if we get him fit enough to see out the rest of his contract, we could sell him on before the next injury. Thracian Posted 13 December 2005 Share Posted 13 December 2005 Predictive conversation after City Reserves match: Speaking after his curtailed Reserves appearance Morris of the 1000 missed games said: "If only they hadn't filled the refreshment bottle so full and if only they'd put it on a table, I know I'd have made an impression. "That bottle was definitely heavier than it should have been and if I hadn't had to bend to pick it up I'd have never slipped a disc. What the hell does a table cost? "How long will I be out? Don't know really, this is a totally new injury. In fact it's a bit of a novelty. I've got to find out about it, study it, learn what I can do and, perhaps more important, what I can't do in case it's everything. "Meanwhile I don't want people to get negative. I thought I did well in the kick about. Did you notice I was ahead in the mini sprints? That showed how hard I've worked to keep myself in good shape. I intend to build on this when I recover from this latest setback. There's no reason I shouldn't complete at least another two mini sprints - especially if they extend my contract through to 2009. "The specialist says he's already been impressed with my progress so far - cos I took my own shirt off (I wasn't helped) and managed to show him first hand exactly where the pain was with the aid of a mirror. I'm pretty good with mirrors cos I use em to practice looking people in the eye. "I've only looked at myself so far but, before 2009, I am determined to look someone else in the eye - probably the Statue of Liberty cos I've got to have a holiday. The mental strain of realising I was so close to playing for the Reserves is almost impossible to quantify - don't they realise it's not where I belong. "I'm a class player I am - a first team player. I need to play where they are sensitive and skillful enough not to fill the refreshment bottles too full. "First team players are thoroughbreds, not hacks. We're not designed to pick up heavy bottles. If we'd wanted to be weight lifters we'd have lived in the Ukraine. It's the club's fault I'm injured again so it's back to the healing hands. "They do bring relief ....................................................................................................... ......................................but that's certainly no reason to call me a w....r is it? Only joking - seriously I hope the guy is over his troubles cos he's a skillful player and it's not as if we can't use a bit of additional inspiration. Sly Posted 13 December 2005 Share Posted 13 December 2005 I think he will remain injury free, and be the free-scoring messiah we've all been waiting for. Sad thing is, he's got the potential to do just that. Bags of pace and he actually knows what where back of the net is.
