Leicesterpool Posted 14 October 2024 Posted 14 October 2024 Cracking tie for Kettering, they must be thrilled with that. Though stinker of a tie for Harborough.
Corky Posted 14 October 2024 Posted 14 October 2024 Some lesser played local derbies- Bristol Rovers v Weston Super Mare, Northampton v Kettering and Notts County v Alfreton. 2

Absolutely stoked with that. We'll get an entire end and out-sing them for 90 minutes. It's going to be a great day out.

Leicesterpool Posted 15 October 2024 Posted 15 October 2024 Alfreton Town might be hoping for a banana skin at Notts County. There record in the fa cup against non league opposition aint great especially weirdly at home. Coalville Town and Kettering Town had some success their.
Daggers Posted 15 October 2024 Posted 15 October 2024 Ranger bangs in the equaliser. New boy Edwards slams in the winner from the spot. Thank you, Bromsgrove - the Big Red Machine rolls on with another 3pts.

CosbehFox Posted 17 October 2024 Posted 17 October 2024 (edited) Is that three strikers signed in the last month? Edited 17 October 2024 by CosbehFox

Seventyseven Posted 18 October 2024 Posted 18 October 2024 We’ve seen this before quite a few times, can see where the Kettering project is heading.

Daggers Posted 18 October 2024 Posted 18 October 2024 27 minutes ago, Lako42 said: Concerned at all? Not really. There's going to be turnover of squad - and we've been very thin from the start of the season...barely able to name a bench for a couple of matches. With Ranger likely to leave, we've only got three proper strikers, our backup goalie is a loan, we have six midfielders and two of them are injured. On top of which we're about to grab a tasty payday in the cup.

We get 1-1.5k per match and it's growing. We've the healthiest sponsorship deals for decades. Our infrastructure is constantly being upgraded by companies donating parts and labour. We're on a cup run that deposits £50 to £100k in the bank in 2 weeks. We aren't paying transfer fees or big weekly wages. So yes, I can see where this is heading: promotion. 1
Daggers Posted 18 October 2024 Posted 18 October 2024 And another thing...we've improved the professionalism of match day no end. Clubhouse, two outside bars, a cafe in the ground, a wood fired pizza van by the outdoor bar terrace, food stalls, entertainment/corporate prematch meals, increased use of clubhouse away from football...matchday revenue has been improved no end. Our ale is well kept and reasonably priced, cobs are cheap, spend per head has soared. The new owners targeted all spends on offield activities and the pitch to provide constant and long-lasting revenue. The fact that we're attracting players is down to who the owners are and their very strong links within the game, not that we're operating a blank checkbook policy. And, most of the board of volunteers who gave their time and energies to save the club post-Ladak are still there. The notion that they're going to stand by and watch their efforts pissed on is for the birds. 1
Seventyseven Posted 18 October 2024 Posted 18 October 2024 I’d always be wary of a random owner coming in a splashing cash on a non league outfit they’ve had no previous interest in. But fans are often blind to the obvious when doing well. We will see where it ends up. Short term promotion is likely (major error if not) but medium to long term it wouldn’t be surprising to see problems emerge. Time will tell.

Harborough have beat the top side in their league, beat 4th twice (including the cup) by putting 8 past them. And took points off 2nd and 3rd away. There isn’t that many ‘glamour’ ties so perhaps this is better than Barrow or similar away as stand a much better chance of getting through.

He isn't/they aren't. I've explained this. Short term promotion is likely (major error if not) but medium to long term it wouldn’t be surprising to see problems emerge. Time will tell. Well, you've just described almost every single non-league club there.
