Three suicide attempts and a touch of C, honestly think I’m blessed with a shield of invulnerability like Lemmy - and that’s not factoring in the lifetime of seriously bad and dangerous life choices. No Reaper is taking me in a hurry. 😁

And we are lucky to have you on the forum, even though you are a big c0ck in real life!:P

Not that interesting but a slightly peculiar one here was being put onto some work experience thing when out of work ages ago that was utterly hopeless, sneaking out of it hoping nobody would notice, remember going home that day and applying for a job, got it, and still there today nearly a decade later lol so that worked out. Wonder what happens if I don't just sneak out. Maybe I'd have just applied for that job when I got home, but that's nowhere near as fun a story.

I used to swipe right on literally everyone, even got kidnapped by a Mexican businesswoman once. Anyway I’d filter my selections on what I matched with rather than before (this is before the algorithms were as they are now, though not been on for 5 years but it’s how I understand it). Was this one girl I was hovering over on my matched list (this was bumble so the women had to speak first) and I was umming and arring about messaging back because she was so breathtaking I thought it was too good to be true (likely a bot), anyway I did message back and 5 years later we are relatively happy.

Thats the spirit, a ringing endorsement!! :D

This isn't a "sliding doors moment" as such.... but I met my wife 9 years ago, when we worked together in the same business.... however... there had been so many moments where we could have met before but hadn't.   Her Great Uncle turns out to be my Grandads best friend, and I'd met him loads of times at family events, but obviously, she had never been there.

I also used to work in central Leicester, and she worked as a bank manager at the bank that was in the bottom of my building for the time that I was there.

When I bought my first house in Earl Shilton, she was then the bank manager in the Nationwide in the village and happened to live at the top of my road and finally, I used to own a bar in Hinckley and her brother once DJ'd there as part of a bigger club night that was put on and she was there.

We've always said it's crazy that we didn't meet earlier than we did, but the timing of us meeting was probably right, as we were ready to settle down at that point!

Another perpestive on this topic. Many years ago I wanted to earn more money from selling catalogues. We had an appointment with the sales rep. He didn't show up and we thought he'd cancelled and tried ringing him but no answer.

Turned out he was killed in a car accident coming to see us. 😢

Very much a stop and pause moment.

2nd date with this lass and I'm meeting her at a car park in Loughboro to go out for a meal in t'town.(She was meeting her sister after who was studying in Lough)

Anyway she's 15 odd  mins late and I'm getting p1ssed off so decide to start driving out and bin her off.

Just as I'm getting to the exit she drives in and we meet near the exit, wind our windows down, she apologises first thing says there was a massive crash on the motorway and really sorry etc....(She from Warwick)

She asks where i was going and i don't have the bo11ox to tell her i was fecking her off and going home so i says" oh i forgot to get you some flowers so was just gonna quickly nip out to get you some"

This made her crack up, we parked up and 23 years later we have 2 lovely kids and she's the rock in my life even though i always take her for granted and take the p1ss out of her!

A few mins delay further and i wouldn't be the man i am now!lol

Have you got the flowers yet?

Gave her something else instead!

To be fair we laugh about this now, i'll say i wish i had driven out of that fecking car park when she p1sses me off and obvious response from her is "wish you did!!!"

It was a beautiful story up to the subtle use of the word “relatively” 😆
